What made it an insurrection rather than just "american citizens demanding that the evidence of vote fraud be presented and reviewed by congress and the citizenry" is the fact that by January 6th 2020 it had already been demonstrated and proven conclusively, including in federal courtrooms over 60 different times that in spite of the claims of it no one was able to produce any actual credible EVIDENCE that widespread voter fraud occurred. Also recounts in every single contested state proved the same thing, that the election was legitimate. Convicted Trump lost, and he knew this. This was revealed to us by The House Jan. 6th Committee in sworn depositions by Convicted felon Trump's own staffers, Attor General, Campaign Manager, and everyone else in his orbit back then.
He was aware that he lost legitimately.
But instead of conceding like any NORMAL loser he fueled and amplified whacky conspiracy theories and whipped a violent mob into a frenzy and sent them to The Capitol to STEAL the election from the rightful winner.
That is not the ordinary, normal, or even LEGAL way to challenge the election.
