Well let's see, slavery ended about 150 years ago. So if you were around 80-100 , there's a good chance you may've known a former slave. But considering everything, it's probably extremely rare.

And I didn't make it to be a fact or a statement of fact. It was just personal musing. But it's more than likely than extremely few if any still living blacks knew any slaves.

"What Indian-Americans want from White People"

Indians who are born in this country or who immigrated here since it was allowed in the late 60's are a group whose people, by percentage, have more degrees than whites, blacks, hispanics. They also have the best health statistics when it comes to cancer, heart disease, HIV and other diseases that suck our health care system dry. They have the lowest percentage of people getting arrested or in prison and they have one of the highest percentages of people sending money to their families abroad. Indians have the lowest percentage of people on welfare. However, whenever statistics are reported, like with health, even though the white stats are not the best, they are used as the gold standard. When Joe the bigot Biden insults hard working Indians because they have the audacity to have an accent and work, nothing happens to him, he gets to be VP. What Indians living in this country want is for whites, blacks, hispanics to improve. We want you to care more about your kids math sat score than your racial superiority. We want you to ground your kids when you find pot in their room instead of trying to be their best friends. We want you to teach them a new vocabulary word that will show up on the sat instead of letting them watch Spencer and Heidi. We want you all to stop blaming everyone else when you live in the best country in the world in terms of opportunity (among other things)
What do Indians want from the country of their heritage? For it to keep making the astounding progress its been making in the past 2 decades, and some population control. Food for thought.

Michael Grant Ignatieff MP (/ɪgˈna.tʃəf/; born May 12, 1947) is a Canadian historian, author, politician, leader of the Liberal Party of Canada and Leader of the Official Opposition in Canada. Ignatieff lived in the United Kingdom from 1978 to 2000. I tend to be disappointed by most members of both of those races.
