What a great man.... HAPPY 100th Ronald Reagan, you are truly missed.

This may or may not be significant. Almost all mega corporations supported Obama's healthcare plan because a) if they are unionized, they'll be exempted anyway and/or b) they are already providing healthcare for their employees. So when the plan is implemented and has a negative impact on their smaller competitors, that's good for them.

And it is not unusual for any industry to support the side that holds the power and therefore writes the regulations that affect the industry. Since 2006 that has been the Democrats.

If Comcast is in Obama's pocket, that will be reflected in the overall editorial policy at NBC and its affiliates and we'll know that soon enough.

But a G.E. (absolutely in Obama's pocket) controlled NBC wouldn't be running a tribute to Ronald Reagan. The fact that a Comcast owned NBC did is an encouraging sign.

Yep... I was working for GE in Houston during the election of 2008 and I was astonished at all the pro-Obama email I recieved from official GE Corporate email sources.

This move didnt surprise me in the least.

Look out for the government media complex

Thou shalt have no other Gods before Obama. We know.

As your caption in your avatar is ...as is your misunderstanding and misrepresentation of the world around you.

The cat is not unimpressed. The cat feels safe near the human dwelling and knows from experience that almost everything out in those hills and mountains can kill it.

Reagan had a similar naive view of the world as you do Being an actor..and a product of Hollywood..and the Actors union..and then Governor of La..La land what he was prepared for was a convincing show..a dramatic part ...written by others.. with a far different agenda...than the feel good crap he spewed. When it came down to it Reagan did not speak for the people...He spoke for G E as he always had. You are no more aware of reality than any typical teen age girl that is in love with Brad Pitt.

Obama is not a God. Reagan was not a God.

Took just ten words to put your panties all in a wad huh? Nobody cares.

You speak for your self asshat.

So does Ron Reagan, one of the sons. I think he has had a better and closer look at his father than anyone on this thread. Firstly he loved his father and still does. That said I watched a talk he gave on his father this evening. He traced his families history back 6 generations to Ireland describing in detail where the dirt poor "Reagans" came from and what made his dad tick. The program was on the "Seattle" municipal TV channel. He describes his father almost exactly as I do. He(his father) made up his own history as he went along in life always painting himself as the hero with a niativity bordering on dishonesty constantly "editing" the facts to be the "guy in the white hat" he portrayed in pre WWII film. He did not do it maliciously but more out of a need to not be the smallish boy that was picked on by bullies. He delved into fantasy westerns for escape... with a father of his own... a drunkard and a disappointment. Those of you that worship his memory would do your edification well to take in more than Ronnies self aggrandizing personal notes ..or Nancy's overly loyal defense.. and look at his children's view as well.

Nobody needs you or his loser son (who never got along with his father) to tell anybody what Ronald Reagan did for this country, history is the judge of that, anyway, I'll take Mike Reagan's view over the wacko lib Ron who's just trying to peddle his book. and for your information Reagan's "notes were not really about himself they were his views on National policy issues of the day, along with some personal ones to his wife and friends, but it says a lot about person who can criticize a book he hasn’t even read.:doubt:

Michael Reagan certainly had far less contact with his father than Ron, Jr. did.
Nancy's kids weren't even told they had a half brother and sister for years.

Obama Names GE CEO Immelt As Economic Adviser

immelt_wide.jpg

Not only economic advisor but very high level in importance to the administration. GE is one of those mega corporations that stands to make mega billions, maybe even trillions, if Obama is successful in getting his Cap & Trade/Tax program passed. They already are benefitting from a lot of stuff mandated in the Obama Administration.

Inmelt has received mixed reviews from the business community. Some praised his appointment because at least he does have business sense. Others raise eyebrows at G.E.'s cozy relationship with Obama Administration and the fact that G.E. outsources at least two thirds of its operations overseas.

You lefties can't let one damn thread go without coming in and spewing all your hate all over it.

It was a thread saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY for crying out loud.

OH NOES!!!!!! The Left is hating on someone on their birthday. HOW HORRIBLE!!!!

I bet you just hate it when people criticize Hitler, Pol Pot, and Stalin on their birthdays

Oh wait!!! You don't. You don't really give a shit about being criticized on a birthday. You're just getting pissy because people are criticizing your patron saint of arming terrorists, Ronnie Reagan. You just don't have the honesty to admit that your objections have nothing to do with his birhtday

lol, feel better? I do believe some of you need to take a chill pill, you are always full of RAGE. sad really
good gawd.:eusa_whistle:

What's funny is that their wonderful lefty president is trying to move right and be more like Reagan. They even went so far as to use him on the cover of Time with his arm around him. Pathetic.

Obama-Reagan-TIME-propaganda-piece.jpeg

Honoring a President who deeply loved our nation and helped to tear down the wall that divided east from west is the right thing to do. That leftists flock to this thread to spew their venom is only indicative of the rot that permeates from within. God bless Ronald Reagan and may he have a wonderful celebration in heaven!

How is this crony capitalism?

Immelt cozies up to Obama, supports and helps to push his policies so as to get preferred statis for any contracts to be doled out by the administration over any other company that might provide the same service or product. It's very simple, GE stands to make billions off of Cap & Trade and Obama's EPA can implement these policies without congress’s approval it's not the free market, and it’s part of whats wrong with our BIG government too much power.

If you are going to make that charge, you must show where GE has gotten preferable treatment.

And how does GE stand to make billions off of Cap & Trade (which is a Republican plan, btw)?

And how is it different than choosing the CEO of Halliburton to be your VP, then giving huge no-bid contracts to Halliburton?

Halliburton has been getting 'no bid' contracts from EVERY administration going back to the beginning of Halliburton. Why? Because there isn't anybody but Halliburton to bid on those contracts. Nobody else can do what Halliburton does other than one French company that can do some of it. But why give business to a French company when we have an American company who at least will have America's best interests at heart?

As for Cheney and Halliburton, Chency had NO TIES whatsoever to Halliburton at the time he was elected Vice President. He had divested almost all stock. He had no legal or business entanglements with Halliburton. And he WAS elected after all with the people who elected him knowing his past affiliations. Inmelt hasn't been elected to anything but G.E. was in trouble and he is looking for a Cap & Trade friendly President to save it.

GE Will Benefit From The Climate Exchange

Choosing the CEO of Haliburton? How about the Ex CEO of Haliburton being on a ticket elected through a vote :eusa_whistle:,

You do realize that Haliburton has had no-bid contracts from several administrations, right? There is no one that does what they do better in a timely manner than Haliburton. You do realize that if there were bids on some major projects in the world, that it would take years to go through the bid process, right?
Sometimes people need to think through the rhetoric from the hacks.

I couldn't have said it better, myself.

Halliburtons' contracts with the govt increased tremendously while Cheney was VP, and contrary to the wingnuts lies, he continued to receive money from Halliburton while he was serving as VP so he had a personal financial interest in making sure that Halliburton kept making money

So I am sure you had the same problem as when Cheney held secret meetings with Oil companies..right?

And while I am 100% opposed to no bid contracts, most especially those to pay off favors and cronies, the fact remains that Halliburton does things no other American company can and that no other company can qualify for the jobs.

The 'blame Bush" crowd continues to go ballistic at the mention of Halliburton or they bring it up as a scarlet letter of condemnation. Never mind that such contracts were awarded through a procedure set up during the Clinton Administration or that many smaller companies subcontract with Halliburton because they could not otherwise afford the huge upfront expenditures and lengthy wait for the Government to pay.

And it seems that the Obama Administration has awarded a $500 million no bid contract to Halliburton ( http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-05) I wonder if the same members who condemn Bush/Cheney for Halliburton ties will be criticing our current fearless leader?
