Were a GOPer to win the WH in 2017

Depends on the Conservative. A Rubio or Bush might do very different things than a Cruz or a Huckabee.

I'd agree that the first 2 you mention are not as wacky as the last two.....(the latter one could make Michelle Bachmann sound "reasonable.")

So what can we predict about the Democratic nominee?
A.) They will not be a white male.
B.) national security will be in jeopardy.
C.) Illegal immigrants will come by the millions to our overburdened economy...so long as they are not White.
D.) Police will not be allowed to carry gun as their ability to use them will place them in jeopardy (right or wrong) of going to prison.
E.) Prisoners will be allowed to vote because of the large numbers of Blacks incarcerated.
F.) Civil Rights Division of Justice Department will have a giant inquisition against all White people who live in small town USA.
G.) Reagan National Airport will be named "Obama national Airport."
H.) MLK will be on the $1 bill.
I.) Sal Alinsky will have a memorial in D.C. next to Lincolns.

I honestly do not understand all the brouhaha over this pipeline. From either the Left or the Right.

Here's my rationale on the pipeline:

1. It would cut through a good chunk of our "bread basket" and water supply....thereby making a spillage (and there's NO ONE who could guarantee it wouldn't happen) much more catastrophic.

2. The pipeline doe NOT create more than a couple hundred permanent jobs for US workers. Much of the steel used that would be used to build it will come from China and foreign sources.

3. The pipeline goers directly to refineries southern TX and to the port of Houston to be shipped out to the highest bidders like China and India....basically making the US the "prostitute" risking a lot for the benefit of Canadian companies and a few US refineries.

...AND, please don't forget that you'll also have to constantly check under your bed for NSA operatives dressed as ninjas.

This is why you must be laughed at and ridiculed . You're just making up crap. The alaska pipeline is safe and the ecosystems thrive. There have been no spills. However, there have been numerous spills with trains. So, we can all see that you're just spreading the same scare mongering propaganda that was used back in the 1970s.

Although highly unlikely (and I mean that without the usual partisanship) what would we expect from a republican gaining the WH in 2017:

1. We should expect yet another war in Iraq, involving our soldiers with the expectation of considerable more deaths (mindful that we have basically armed ISIS and they would be even more battle-hardened than they were in 2003,) and we should expect another $1 trillion to be spent in an endless cause without a foreseeable “victory."

Does this mean we can retire all the old photos of Donald Rumsfeld shaking Saddam Hussein's hand and replace them with pictures of John McCain chilln with ISIS?

Trans-Alaska pipeline spill toll 5 000 barrels Alaska Dispatch News

Despite what industry supporters say are more environmentally friendly ways of detecting and extracting oil from the North Slope today, the means of transporting the liquid gold south is old and – critics say – becoming dangerously decrepit. In some places pipeline walls have lost as much as 80 percent of their thickness as a result of corrosion, industry officials say.

Meanwhile, environmental, economic, and legal fallout continues from the 1989 oil spill, which dumped at least 11 million gallons of oil onto 1,200 miles of shoreline in Prince William Sound after the tanker Exxon Valdez had filled up at the pipeline's southern terminal.

The valdez spill had nothing to do with the pipeline. It struck the bligh reef.

Just trying to help your three brain cells.

Well, thank you.....Now, did you bother reading about ALL the oil spills from the Alaska pipeline that had nothing to do with Valdez???

If you still have problems in reading, ask a grown-up to help.

You unerstand that railroad car spills happen more frequently and can be just as bad, right? Or would you rather we just banned oil?

One MORE time.......
If you think massive releases of oil into the environment pose a greater risk to human health, then pipelines are the greater evil.

According to the same PHMSA dataset, compiled and analyzed by the International Energy Agency, U.S. pipelines spilled three times as much crude oil as trains over that eight-year period, even though incidents happened much less frequently. And that eight-year period was dominated by large pipeline spill events, including one that saw 800,000 gallons of Canadian tar sands crude spill in and around the Kalamazoo River, and another 63,000 gallon pipeline spill into the Yellowstone River.

I see you're bad with statistics.
