Coin shop guy dumped a bunch of guns into my go-to shop yesterday and I picked up the two below for $350.00.

One was a Taurus "Judge" and the other was a Bond Arms Pikes Peak 100th anniversary edition.

The Judge is about as useless with .410 as I suspected, I don't think it would even be useful for snakes! 45LC did OK at 7 yards.

Meh, it will make for great trade fodder on down the road. Plus it the more rare hammerless version. They can't keep them in stock in my AO.

The Bond Arms derringer really surprised me once I got used to the trigger. It was sold a couple of years back as a two barrel set combo. .38 special/.357 and .45LC/2.50" .410. Nothing cheap about it as far as build quality.

I just used .38 special in it and it did well at 7 yards....I switched barrels and .45 LC did as well. I did not bother with .410 as, like with the Judge the bore is rifled.

Yeah, it's more of a novelty gun but given that it's very well made it would serve for a "get the **** off me" derringer.

I remember a coworker of mine telling me about his Judge, and then asking me a time or two if I wanted to buy it. I knew he must have not liked shooting it if he is trying to unload it on me. The only reason I remember that is because it fired .410, and I was reminded of this when I saw this post.

The first gun I ever fired as a kid was a .410 rifle when I went pheasant hunting.

That would be .410 shotgun.....Come on man. ;)

The Judge might be a good one to keep in your automobile, if you're not prone to road rage.
