forecast was it will be wetter and colder.......well they nailed the wetter part, rain almost daily
water table is up probably 5 feet and the streams and creeks are flowing

Kinda feel sorry for half the people around me running studded snows since October....

Where I live there's almost no snow. Maybe in the last 10 years we've had snow two or three winters where there was enough snow to settle on cars, at the very least. One winter at work there was nothing and at home, like 20 minutes away, snowmen.

I no longer live in snow belt areas with lake effect snow but this is still pretty unusual for my area

I have become really good driving in snow but I guess I should not complain, the roads might we wet but not full of black ice

back in the day they would dump rock salt which rusted your car frame not protected but now they spray calcium chloride which is actually more damaging to your paint

We didn't have a single flake until late November, which is unusual. I've seen flakes around here in early October, and as late as the first week of May. Michigan

it's a rather goofy weather pattern this year, el nino I think? the only places really getting hammered are NE and the typical snow belt areas

odd high pressure is keeping the jet stream north and thus it's been unusually mild

consider rain a form of instant snow-----ready to be PROCESSED

I think that's about to end though. A La Nina was predicted, but didn't seem to really solidify. Now the experts are predicting a "polar vortex" next week.

'polar vortex' sounds like fun---winter resort area?

last time I experienced a polar vortex I was just south of the Canadian border, had a week of -45F, with wind about -55f, the week prior heavy lake effect snow

that was a very interesting experience, just glad I was young, I am not sure I can handle that now

The lakes are still quite warm this year, and will protect MI from the worst of the cold. But may activate the lake effect snow

It's a beauty if there is no wind and the huge cottonball flakes just lightly fall down......until you need to go to work and fire up the 2 stage snowblower! My toro always got a good workout ;)

The Snowflakes are sheltering here .

The Fluffy ones --- except for IQ-2.0 who is more Scruffy than Fluffy .

Where do you live, Hawaii? There is still about 2 feet of snow in New England and we had some light snow in Virginia. Be careful what you wish for. The weather forecast is calling for something they call a "polar vortex". I'm not quite sure what it is but it might extend to Florida and it's chilling news.

I live in the mountains now which makes it even more odd there is zero snow yet but I've lived in CO and NY and always had snow
