Just like the UK, I see that Germany suffers Red Forecasts too -

Same date but 5 years later, temperatures are cooler but dramatically presented in dangerous red.

--------

Just part of the climate propaganda push

It's like that everywhere now, even for "fish storms".

Over 1 million urged to stay out of the ocean in Florida

National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologists are urging more than 1 million people along Florida's eastern coast to remain out of the water on Friday amid an increased chance of rip currents at some beaches.

You can't justify hundreds of billions in wasted spending without scary graphics.

You don't think rip currents are real? Not understanding your comment.

I lived in Florida for many years. The warnings have been going on for decades. You are incorrect. Maybe you are just seeing them because of the internet. People drown. They need the warnings.

Even with warnings ... people still drown ... Kerr County, Texas has 12 hours notice to watch out for flash floods ...

Note that the American NWS reserves the color red for tornado warnings or hurricane-force winds warning ... and "warnings" are only issued if the event is imminent or on-going ...

Yes, like I said, they've always been there.

So, what exactly is your point?

You said: "but now warnings and coverage is so dramatic.'

If they have not changed, that refutes your comment!
Everything is now so dramatic. The wording, the colours, the panic, the emotion. The older generations, like me, are sitting back thinking, "What the douche".

They've existed as long as Earth has had oceans. When I was a lad, part of learning to swim was knowing what to do and how not to panic if caught up in a rip tide or rip current (not the same thing but often used interchangeably).

Warning folks to to refrain from swimming in the ocean on the chance there might be a rip current is all part of the idea that we should fear nature's moods brought on by our sinful, wasteful ways, and not accept nature for something we can deal with without fear.

You and the caveman are fools!

It all depends on what is normal for the place and time of year. When we did ireland last year there was a heat warning for 81°. Of course the hottest it has ever been there is 91° so to them 81 was a concern. Coming from the American south in summer, 81 was a cool down to us as it had been 94 the day we flew out.
