President Donald Trump said Thursday he is calling off plans for federal agent deployment in San Francisco.

Mayor Daniel Lurie first shared the news Thursday morning after having a conversation with the president Wednesday night.

"We appreciate that the president understands that we are the global hub for technology, and when San Francisco is strong, our country is strong," Lurie said in a statement. "In that conversation, the president told me clearly that he was calling off any plans for a federal deployment in San Francisco. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem reaffirmed that direction in our conversation this morning. My team will continue to monitor the situation closely, and our city remains prepared for any scenario."

Trump later took to Truth Social and wrote "we will not surge San Francisco" in a post discussing his plans to stand down on the federal deployment after speaking with Lurie.

The NBC Affiliate showed people blocking the access road to Coast Guard Station Alameda. The Mayor's of Oakland , San Francisco and San Jose held morning presser show solidarity against planned ICE raids. The lies about crime being up in all three cities is a lie. The murder rate in S.F. is down 70%, over all crime in all three cities down 30%. The lowest in over 3-Years. Trump is creating the crisis here, he will use it as an excuse use the Insurrection Act.

The new mayor says he will lean up San Francisco. Give him a chance.

He knows that the National Lard could never walk up and down those hilly streets.

All Trump ever wanted is for these places to take care of their own business. If they don’t then Trump comes in.
