I'll tell you a story of why I believe this. This is a story that my neighbor told who is now a retired police officer. This happened many years ago but I still found it to be incredible. He was telling me yesterday that a neighbor of his was this boy who use to mow his lawn for him and then one day he found out that there were marks all over his arms. At first he thought that they were just mosquito bites but upon closer examination he realized that they were cigarette butts.

So, he asked the boy where he got his marks and he wouldn't tell him. He was off duty btw, but goes beyond his expectations of serving and protecting when he walked over to his house and knocked on the door. His father answered and my neighbor asked him if he could explain what was over his son's arms. He told him to F off and tried shutting the door on him and that's when my neighbor snapped and went into action putting his job, prison, and his safety (as he had nothing else to protect himself) and started beating this guy up obviously this guy punched him back in self-defense but that's when my neighbor called 911 and claimed police brutality so this guy would be arrested and taken out of the house.

He also had a wife as well and my neighbor wanted to guarantee that this guy would be locked up and never be able to harm this kid again that he attacked him and lied about it in order to do so. The thing is that he shouldn't have had to do that in the first place. I know the second amendment exists to be able to defend yourself if you feel like somebody is going to kill you or one of your loved ones or cause serious harm to you at the time, but the fact that some lowlife disgusting demonic creature thought that it was okay to burn his child and this man had to break the law in order to protect him is extremely sad to me. That is a true man btw and a true hero who put a child's safety over his own career and freedom. In my book he deserved a medal for that.

Not to argue for the sake of argument but this off duty cop should have handled this differently. He should have called the police. The fact that he "snapped" as you say, would not play well for him. Had he called police before going over there, the police could have seen the child's injuries and then aid in a citizen's arrest.

The process would have taken too long as nobody is arrested without probable cause. As they have to make sure that it's the right person first. He knew in an instant and that's why he had to get that man out of the house ASAP.

Is the goal to make an arrest or is the goal to get to the truth.

All things else in your story being the same, suppose the final finding was that the Kid was burning himself (I've seen it before) and the father's "**** off" comment was made out of embarrassment and frustration, because he didn't like being falsely accused or suspected.

To your point in the OP, I do think the ability to make a citizen's arrest, (using a firearm if necessary) could be and possibly should be expanded to protect the persons trying to protect the child in this case. I was in a case very similar to this once, involving a rape.

He was guilty but I see what you're saying as he could have been innocent. However, you would be surprised to know how long of a process making an arrest is. Sometimes they never happen unfortunately and the child winds up getting murdered in the end. I've seen way too many videos about it on YouTube. I don't know what all they need in order to arrest somebody but a lot of times like those I just wonder if many people are just sleeping on the job.

Yes, we need to expand 2A rights to the full breadth and depth of "shall not be infringed" and 'all bearable arms".
To this end, here has been a lot of positive activity in the state legislatures and federal courts.

President Trump on Thursday suggested networks and late-night shows in particular should not be allowed to be overwhelmingly critical of him in the wake of ABC’s decision to take host Jimmy Kimmel off the air.

So Trump is directly assaulting the 1st amendment and you don't mind.

Trump was right. He could shoot someone and not lose your support. I wonder if you would allow Trump to attack your 2nd amendment right? I think you would. Look how you've gotten over the fact he's one of the pedophiles on the Epstein Client List

Can't address the issue at hand, so you have to troll off topic.
All you do is troll and lie.
Just pointing out that if Trump will take away your 1st amendment rights, I'm sure he will take the 2nd. Or, he will take away half the countries right to own a gun and I'm sure you would celebrate that right? So like I said, Trump could get you to turn on the 2nd amendment quickly, so long as he doesn't attack your right to own a gun and say whatever you want to say because he agrees with you. It doesn't work that way dummy.

And since Republicans don't care about the constitution, or only when it suits them, perhaps Democrats will do that with the 2nd. Next time they are in power. But they'll be slick about it like Trump is. Bragging about the cancellations while also denying they had anything to do with it.

Would you be okay with a law saying trannys can't own guns? I bet you would.

Okay you want to talk about the 1st amendment? Trump 2018

Trump: 'Take the guns first, go through due process second'

At one point during the meeting, then-Vice President Mike Pence explained a potential legislative option where states would be given more resources to recognize potentially dangerous individuals and take them to court to confiscate their weapons. Trump jumped in and suggested skipping over the courts. Here’s the full quote

“Or, Mike, take the firearms first and then go to court, because that’s another system. Because a lot of times, by the time you go to court, it takes so long to go to court, to get the due process procedures. I like taking the guns early. Like in this crazy man’s case that just took place in Florida, he had a lot of firearms – they saw everything – to go to court would have taken a long time, so you could do exactly what you’re saying, but take the guns first, go through due process second.

See?
All you do is troll and lie.
Right back at you.

I say Donald will start taking our guns and you'll go along sucker. Because first it will be trannies. You won't care because you aren't a tranny. Then they'll go after......

Does this sound familiar dummy?

Not all bearable arms. Arms in Common Usage as upheld in Heller.
Heller:
... the Second Amendment extends, prima facie,to all instruments that constitute bearable arms, even those that were not in existence at the time of the founding.

"Bearable arms":
... the sorts of weapons protected are those “in common use at the time”
... those in common use for lawful purposes.

All you do is troll and lie.
We can all learn from Charlie. Every question you ask that I don't want to answer, I will just change the subject to why you guys won't release the Epstein Client list. Is it because Trump's on the list? Of course it is.

I don't care what you ask me, I will ask you back, "what about Epstein".

I notice that any time Charlie couldn't respond intelligently to a young person he was debating with, he would ask them "what is your definition of a man?"

All Charlie did was lie and troll. Too soon? Are you going to turn me in notsee?

15th post
See?
All you do is troll and lie.

He is NOT lying about Trumps statement about DUE PROCESS.
Blindness is ignorance on EITHER SIDE

Trump seems to be doing a lot of good, but you forget he was a lifelong NY Democrat.
His record on your Constitutional Rights is not Stellar regarding the 2nd Amendment.

He also Championed RED FLAG LAWS. You should know at least a little about your Messiahs.
Otherwise, you're just a bloviating arrogant ignorant fool
