We have all seen the harmony disappear in our nation over the last eight years. We were promised a united country with an economy that would be robust, jobs for all those who want or need them and a peace around the globe.
What we have witnessed is a division between the races unseen since the 60's. Blacks have an unprecedented high unemployment rate while welfare and food stamps climbed to an all time high.
We have witnessed terrorist attacks even though our CIC refuses to admit that the Radical Muslims do not exist, nor their established families radicalized in mosques.
More and more immigrants are welcomed by this administration without vetting, putting our resources over a unsustainable. Obama should have run on "stability." Something we have lost.
Obama promised to be the "transparent president," proving just the opposite.
We have never experienced a ineffective leader, only to be the Apologist in Chief.
WE NEED REAL CHANGE AND WE NEED IT NOW.
WE NEED A PRESIDENT WHO WORKS FOR ALL THE CITIZENS, NOT JUST SOME OF THEM.
WE NEED TO PROTECT OUR BORDERS FROM THOSE INTENDING TO CAUSE DESTRUCTION AND TARGET AMERICANS.
WE NEED A WALL THAT PROTECTS US FROM THOSE WHO WANT TO USE OUR ECONOMY FOR SURVIVAL OF THEIR HOME COUNTRIES. WE NEED TO PROTECT OUR CITIZENS FROM DISEASES WE ONCE OBLITERATED.
WE NEED A STRONG LEADER, THAT IS HE DRAWS A RED LINE IN THE SAND, HE DOESN'T CHOOSE TO IGNORE IT SHORTLY AFTERWARDS.
WE NEED TO FORM A REAL COALITION TO DESTROY RADICAL ISLAMISTS. WE NEED TO SHOW OUR ALLIES WE INTEND TO STAND WITH THEM AND EXPECT THEM TO STAND WITH US. NO MORE APOLOGIES OF PERCEIVED SINS OF THE WEST.
WE NEED JOBS AND OUR AMERICAN MANUFACTURERS TO RETURN HOME TO A SENSIBLE TAX LAWS WITH TRADE AGREEMENTS THAT DO NOT HURT THE US AS IN THE PAST.
WE NEED TRUMP.
Nothing is sourced here. This reads like vague partisan rambling.
1) The OP ignores [things like] the fact that the Republican Party has created an atmosphere where any sitting GOP politician is vulnerable to losing his job if his name appears on any legislation signed by Obama, even if the legislation originated on the Right. Unity with Obama for Republicans means a primary challenge - it means losing your job.
2) Question for the OP: What Democratic president past or future would the OP not say these things about (more or less)?
The OP addresses complex issues with the most banal and unsophisticated generalizations. He is why Trump is winning. He hasn't read Friedman's "Capitalism and Freedom" or Hayek's "Road To Serfdom" or Keynes "General Theory of Employment". He doesn't know the real arguments on both sides, he just repeats canned talking points.
3) How possibly could any president satisfy those who believe in the Keynesian welfare state (on the one hand)
and those who believe in the neoliberalism of Reaganomics (Hayek/Friedman) on the other hand? These are diametrically opposed world views that do not admit unity. More to the point: it's not like the GOP will meet the Democrats half way and raise taxes on the 1% only half as much as the Left proposes or even a quarter or a dollar. The Republican negotiating stance is "zero compromise, zero unity" with Obama. Their one goal - announced by McConnel in the beginning was to make Obama a one term president. This meant that he could have no legislative success of
any kind.
But ... let's leave aside the OPs unwillingness to say something specific or interesting or new.
Let's just address Trump's plan to bring back manufacturing.
The whole point of Reaganomics (of which Slick Willie was a sympathizer) was to unburden capital from the high costs of American taxes, regulations and labor costs. We were told that the job creators needed the promise of higher returns to risk their money and create jobs - so we watched as they deindustrialized this great nations and shipped the jobs to the most profitable labor markets.
Put simply, investors make more money when Nike sneakers are made for pennies by enslaved Taiwanese serfs living beneath brutal dictators in freedom hating tyrannies. If we don't give investors the right incentives, we won't have companies like Nike and the jobs they create. This is the whole point of Milton Friedman's work. Milton Friedman was the architect of Reaganomics. He argued that the high (livable) wages of the postwar years were unsustainable, and that we needed to free capital to search for the absolute lowest cost of production, no matter where it was in the globe.
So, if you want to bring back jobs from Taiwanese sweatshops, you will have to give companies at least the same profit margins they earned in Taiwan,
which means that at an American workforce would have to underbid Taiwanese peasants who sleep on dirt floors and eat dog food. These jobs don't pay for rent or food, much less provide access to the American Dream - of course Trump doesn't have to explain any of this because his audience isn't smart enough to see the ruse.
Global capitalism is here to stay.
This is why Trump gets his ties made in Mexico - because it's more profitable. Doesn't the OP get it?
The self-interested drive for profit is what separates capitalism from socialism. This is why Reagan blew up America's postwar high wage manufacturing structure. He wanted to raise the profits of his donors. As did Bill Clinton.
The special interests which fund our elections are motivated by higher profits. Investors are motivated by higher profits. Consumers are motivated by lower prices (which are achieved partly by lower labor costs).
Trump is lying to stupid people in order to get elected.
The OP is likely a good person, and it looks like he has a gorgeous dog. I'm begging him to turn off Fox News and go to a library.
