Rory McIlroy has said that we need to “weigh up” the possibility of a united Ireland following the Brexit vote.

In an interview with The Telegraph, which took place the day after the referendum result, the world number four golfer said: “If I’m Northern Irish, what’s better? To be part of the UK and not be in the EU? Or to be in a united Ireland and still belong to the EU? People are going to have to weigh that up.”

And who is going to pay for the referendum needed to bring about the dissolution of the Union. Any idiot can keep spouting that N.I. and Scotland can split from the rest of the UK without following legal procedure. Ask any person from Eire what they would do in the same situation and you will be told stay with England

NI was always going to unite with the Republic when the Catholic population surpassed the Protestant population. They two populations are equal today and Brexit will only accelerate the unification.

Brexit has succeeded in breaking up the UK. Talk about unintended consequences.

Like hell it has, who will pay the costs involved in the referendum in the UK government refuses to do so. And the north cant afford the cost of living increase if they do unite. How many homeless Catholics can you sustain when rents rise by 1000%, how many starving children when the price of food rises 1000%. Who will hand out the welfare when the English are no longer empowered to do so, and the Catholic church is crying about the stupidity of the Irish. The protestants will be welcomed in England, the Catholics told to stay put as they have what they demanded.

"Veteran diplomat Richard Haass – a former US special envoy for Northern Ireland – has predicted that; “In five years there will no longer be a UK, Scotland will be independent and part of Europe. Less certain but quite possibly all or part of Northern Ireland will join Ireland.”

And will you foot the bill for the referendums, because we in England wont. And the way things are going the Scots would be foolish to hand the EU their land on a plate and allow them to build nuclear power stations and harbour nuclear subs after using this as the reason they wanted out of the union.
