Why is Hamas attacking Israel?​

Hamas spokesperson Khaled Qadomi has told Al Jazeera that the group’s military operation is in response to all the atrocities the Palestinians have faced over the decades.
“We want the international community to stop atrocities in Gaza, against Palestinian people, our holy sites like Al-Aqsa. All these things are the reason behind starting this battle,” he said.
Asked whether Hamas had taken Israeli soldiers and civilians hostage, Qadomi replied: “They are not hostages. They are prisoners of war.”
He added that the Israeli settlers are also occupiers and according to international law, they are invaders.
“So the situation today is a war against invaders,” he said.

I'm surprised that the Palestinians have tolerated Zionist ethnic cleansing this long without some sort of response
The actions taken by Palestine's resistance groups are the act of long persecuted people with no hope for a better future.

I've spent time in the Middle East and followed events there since the attack on America's USS Liberty.
I can understand that no matter what the Palestinians do, they end up with less land and even less hope for the future.
These are the realities the Palestinians face:

1. US Mid East Policy is dominated by influential Israeli lobbies.
2. The US already has troops in Israel to fight for Israel
3. Genocidal Settler extremists can kill, steal and destroy with impunity
4. Israel's Right Wing is getting even more extreme.
5. Almost half of Israel's Jews support Ethnic Cleansing
6. Israel is rewarded with untold $ Billions for refusing to make peace and violating international law.
7. Holocaust theme parks litter the planet yet it is forbidden to mention the Nakba in democratic Israeli schools.
8 Israel uses Gaza as its weapons lab. using genotoxic, D.U., N.D.U., phosphorus and conventional munitions on a captive civilian population.

The list continues but I have yet to find an apologist for Israel's brutal occupation who can name one ruthlessly occupied people who have not struck back at their occupiers.

Again, the actions of the Palestinians are those of desperate people with neither hope nor future.
