Much smarter this time than in 2016. They have a FAR better chance now as Merkel is out of office and Germany can say "we agree with you in confronting China (which they are) and we agree with the 2% funding of NATO and will work with you to rally everyone in NATO".

This is the smart play. France and Germany need to work with America to succeed, stop putting all your eggs in the basket of policies that hurt America and all of the West.

Kindness to those who deserve it. Firmness to those who take advantage of kindness. Trump refused to regard as enemies those willing to help him achieve world peace even when we dislike their form of government. And that policy got us closer to world peace than any of us have experienced in our lifetime.
