T'was reported that his advance team had been informed earlier that the restaurant's policy was not to allow campaign events on the premises. They were running a business serving food....they were not a entertainment venue. They came anyway and then tried to bully their way in. It seems this was a set-up, a charade for appearances sake.
Not the most honest way to represent oneself or one's political campaign.

Or so it seems.

So they pride themselves on being the place for Democrats to host events, but deny Republicans?

Well, yeah, for small-ball meetings for councilmen, for aldermen, for county drain commissioner, maybe State Representative, maybe US Representative, but......but the restaurant did not have the space, the staff, the preparation for a Vice President wannabe of the United States of America and the caravan of press and staffers to conduct a presser on their premises.

And importantly, they informed the 'advance team' who preps such stuff for politicians of such stature. They told them they couldn't handle it. The campaign ignored the restaurant's wishes and bulldozed anyway......and got what they wanted, a public turn-away so they could trumpet it as "unfair".

In my humble opinion, Vance's team was unfair to the restaurant, it was dishonest and manipulative. Not a good look for a man who would want our vote.

Crowds jamming into one's dining floor space and serving lanes ain't a good thing....for dining, for serving. Duh!
Would be even worse with press people and their attempts to jam their pole-microphones, shoulder cams, etc.

If it was my establishment I would have told the advance team...

"Thank you, for considering us. The publicity could be a good, but.....but have the VP Wannabe hold his presser and his talk to the crowds who want to see him outside in the parking lot....not in the dining area.

We can though, serve him and his main entourage with cold drinks outside. How many would there be? Keep us informed if you are gonna do it in our parking lot. Thanks."
