As I read this CNN article (archived if course)...

... and continue to ponder the dynamics of the current Speaker of the House election I'm left with the realization that a larger House margin only reduces the power of the Conservative Republican wing of the party...and that the thin margin may actual do more good than harm.

There is a possibility in this strategy that Establishment Republicans show their true colors and choose to embrace their brothers-in-arms on the liberal benches rather than compromise with their more conservative colleagues...but, honestly...that may be just as positive an outcome.

The Senate will switch after the 2024 elections, but Biden will be able to get a lot of appointments approved until then.

Even if McCarthy secures the votes needed he is going to have to give up a lot of power. He won't be able to lord it over the freedom caucus. That's what the more narrow margin did for us.....A good thing IMHO.

Lock-step is what dems and RINOs do.

The GOP's about to spend the next 2 years letting the lunatics they've embraced humiliate the party and I'm going to love the show
