Nope, he sure doesn't stand a change against these two professional character assassins. Of course if the three of them got together to debate real issues of the day... Clinton and Trump would BOTH be made to look like the fools they are.

Libertarians tend to walk that line between conservative and liberal ideology, but that's not what a lot of voters want to hear. They want to hear ideas tailored to their beliefs, and fuck everybody else. Compromise is an old-fashioned idea.

It's not that libertarian lies in the middle of the road like fresh bipartisan road kill.


The basic concept is liberty requires both economic and social freedom. Economic freedom means fiscal sanity and choice of products, services, making a living. That's "conservative". But social freedom means attention to Civil Liberties and choices made in that realm. And that's a definition of "classic liberalism".

All of that liberty requires tolerance to make it work. Tolerating the choices of others even if you personally abhor those choices.

That's why it's called Libertarian. Don't like "middle of the road" deals and compromises. Every issue/problem is tackled from the perspective of leaner more focused govt and minimum coercion by regulation and law.
