On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “All In,” Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) responded to plans to eliminate the federal Department of Education by claiming that “Ruby Bridges needed to be escorted into those schools and the folks who went into Little Rock because we didn’t have an Education Department that ensured her civil rights were respected. That’s gone now.” And stated that “when Trump says it’s a bunch of bureaucrats interfering with your local schools, give local control, we’ll give you the money, it sounds pretty good. And we have not provided what that alternative looks like.”
Walz said, “What I worry about is the generational change that this would make. Look, Ruby Bridges needed to be escorted into those schools and the folks who went into Little Rock because we didn’t have an Education Department that ensured her civil rights were respected. That’s gone now. And my son, those of your viewers who are out there now who have individual education plans that let them thrive and be their best people, what do they want us to do, warehouse these kids, not give them the skills? School desegregation, forced busing, has been a monumental failure. It cost us hundreds of billions of dollars.

It has seen the demise of not only K-12, but what once was the top university system in the world now cratering as well (Alan Dershowitz has talked about this demise of the university system in America - mentioning it today on WABC 770 Cats & Cosby show).

All this, all of it, is run by Democrats/the left.

It began in NYC when they made open-enrollment of a superb city university system (some schools were Ivy League class, and now it is a mess of stupidity). The rest of the nation's universities have followed suit.

Just think--- he could have been our VP now.

Isn't it amazing that for 30 years, every democrat from Barry Obumma to Nancy Pelosi harped on the need to trim government, cut spending, waste and corruption, but now that Trump is actually DOING it, it will lead to the end of the world.

Democrats cannot find 11¢ they can afford to cut from federal spending that will not bring a collapse to the country.

Sort of like Joe Biden who for the life of him, could not find and did not have the authority to stop illegals swarming across our border, until Trump got in and did it with one arm tied behind his back.

Democrats are like that visiting aunt or cousin you don't like who won't leave after the holidays that you can't seem to get rid of, and is eating you out of house and home while wrecking the place.

The real solution is School Choice: If I don't like the local school, I should be able to send my kid to a different one and take most of the per pupil cost with me. Any additional costs (bussing, differences in per pupil spending), I pay for myself.
