neither do I, I have had several run ins with cops in OKC when I lived there 25 years...and once I did not stop for them, yet was not shot...One time i was cuffed and roughed up on because Warr Acres thought I was someone else and I had 6 police revolvers clicked and pointed at me, when they found out I was not who they wanted they were still assholes about it....
I always stop for them. I always obey the law to the absolute best of my ability.
I also don't expect police to be more perfect than myself. When they cuffed you, were you decent and respectful to them the entire time? Or were you a jerk to them?
I just ask what was going on, i was at a tire repair shop having a flat fixed when it happened.....I'll follow a law if I want to....
Ah well.
My experience has been very different. But I never ask questions of the officer. I figure they'll figure out what is going on at some point. I just try and treat them with the highest respect, and as a result, I've never had any problems.
If I know them I will, but just as cops treat unknowns as perps, I treat them as bandits...I live in a small town now and I know the city and county cops, the lieutenant lives about 1/2 mile up the road and I've know him from years ago as a general commercial contractor like I was....I have no problems with these cops cause I talk to them and get to know them..I let them know I do not fear them and to let them know I am no threat....Then go home and smoke a bowl....I even do free community service work oh masonry, electrical and electronics for the town...But these cops around here do not shoot anyone that flees, the last one that did, is in prison....
Yeah. I think people who flee should be shot. I honestly do. I think if a police officer says "stop", and you turn and start to run, he should, and be legally right, to shoot you in the back, and kill your criminal butt.
One of the reasons Singapore is one of the safest cities in the entire world, is because they simply don't tolerate law breakers. You can go anywhere in the city, at any time of the day, at any time in the year, and be completely safe.
In a city of over 5 million people, they recorded a massive 16 murders in 2011. Why? Because they don't screw around. You mess with an officer in Singapore, they flat out kill your butt.
I wasn't always so extreme, but I'll tell you... you just need to be victimized a few times, and it changes your perspective. Just need to come home, to find your entire house ransacked, and spend the next several hours trying to take account of everything, to see what all is missing. Yeah, it changes your views. I'm tired of everyone coming up with every excuse for criminals possible. You just go to the store, and have your debit card declined, and find out later your account is empty, and suddenly all this crap about how no criminal should so much as hurt their pinky finger, goes right out the window.
There's a lot of us, that are just flat out tired of crime and criminals, demanding we not punish them.
So yea... I want criminals stopped, and I want them stopped dead... as in dead. You don't want to die? Obey the law. As far as I'm concerned, you run from the police, they should shoot you dead. Win for all of society.
