Biden is taking steps to restore national forests that have been devastated by wildfires, drought and blight, using an Earth Day visit to Seattle to sign an executive order protecting some of the nation's largest and oldest trees.

Isn't that what the National Forest Service is paid to do anyway?

.

The order marking Earth Day focuses on reducing the risk of wildfires, fighting global deforestation and using nature itself to decrease pollution.

He wants us to increase logging to reduce the fuel load?

Cleaning up the underbrush and tending to the national forest as they do in Europe will keep down forest fires.

Trump: “You gotta take care of the floors. You know the floors of the forest, very important… I was with the President of Finland… he called it a forest nation and they spent a lot of time on raking and cleaning and doing things and they don’t have any problem.”

In an interview reported by Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat, Niinisto said he met Trump briefly in Paris earlier in November, and on the topic of the California wildfires told him: “Finland is a country covered by forests,” and that to avoid forest fires “we have a good surveillance system and network”.

I grew up in Finland. a) it rains all year round. b) we have a lengthy and cold winter. c) Finland is a sparsely populated country with just over 5mil ppl, with land size ~3/4 of CA and most of it forests and lakes. d) no friggin body is raking the forests.

But the leftwing dunces won't allow what will actually prevent forest fires which is brush clearing and controlled burning.

Brush clearing? Millions of acres? And decimate the ecosystem for untold numbers of plants and animals? lol

It was a laughable idea when Trump said it. It still is a laughable idea.
And we saw the result of not doing it. In 2020, 10.1 million acres of forest in the West burned. Hundreds of millions in property losses, 33 people killed.
Why do you think taking measures to prevent that is laughable?

And how do you plan to clear the brush from 10.1 million acres of land. And how do you plan to save the hundreds of species of animals that live in that brush?

Forest experts do targeted burning, so it wouldn't be neccesary to do all 10 million acres.
How are the hundreds of species of animals faring when the forests burn to the ground?
