I know we had a thread talking about veterans and suicide.
This board has impressed me with the understanding and support of veterans.
I have lost two former Soldiers to suicide in the past 4 months. I want to get this out to everyone I can.
We are losing Americas sons and daughters needlessly.
The people who join our military are Americas sons and daughters, husbands and wives, fathers and mothers. They come back from screwed up tours and it never goes away.
We as a society need to fix this. If you know a vet, either relative or a friends relative talk to them. Just say hello or something. It makes a difference.
I had a bad day was thinking this world sucks, an older lady came up and thanked me for what I was doing. It made a huge difference in how I felt.
What I am saying in my rambling is we can do a better job of integrating our military back into civilian life. It doesn't take much just a little compassion.
I long for the day when our military is accepted and cherished for what they do.
I have more thoughts on this and will respond to this thread about it.
All I ask is lend a hand to our vets either active or out. We are losing too many to suicide.
