How good are they? Since I'm an ex-sweep sailor I'm kind of iffy on the subject. The ship had been condemned for unseaworthiness three times before I served on it, had 4% casualties annually even without combat or combat training and it was usually due to the learning curve being kind of steep for deck apes right out of boot and yes the books were cooked on that subject and other subjects. The outgoing CO in 73 is listed as Lt. Cdr. but he was wearing Lt bars and a big grin at change of command. So, I'm soliciting opinions on joining Fido's group.
