VERNAL, Utah (KUTV) — A man was found dead in a running vehicle with an arrow impaled in his neck.
Leroy Casper Poowegup Reed, an enrolled member of the Ute Indian Tribe, was charged with second-degree murder while in Indian Country.
The incident happened on Thursday in the Whiterocks community, on the Uinta and Ouray Indian Reservation.
The FBI, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and Uintah County Sheriff's Office are investigating the homicide.
Darn rural Utes at it again.
"Did you say 'Utes?'"
"Yeah, you know...Utes."
Jokes aside people do not understand just how many murders happen on reservations, and are generally never really known about (a person goes missing, and their body is never found), or IF a body is found, it's never solved.
