I don't believe any of that. Personally, I believe what happened is that his black sensibilities were prickled when a white guy issued orders to him. At that point I believe his emotions took over and he was not gonna take any crap from a white guy. In fact, I believe he felt so strongly about it that he taunted Austin to put his hands on him just so he could prove that very point. He dared Austin to put his hands on him before Austin even said or did anything to suggest he was going to do so.

Karmelo wanted it to get physical but he wasn't going to make the first move. That's why he dared Austin to put his hands on him.
