Assuming we still have a country

The only thing screwing up the country is the people.

The land is still pretty good.
The Constitution is mostly intact.
We still have most of our freedoms.
The idea of America as a land of freedom and opportunity is pretty much intact.

However, political power is falling into the wrong hands.
The educational system is down the toilet.
The nation's health isn't so good.
The nations moral health is in the toilet.
We are riddled with debt, public and private.
Worse, few seem to care.

He does seem to have a pretty good legal mind. I wouldn't mind seeing him there. He could be the next Antonin Scalia.

Rubio has already said he supports Vance. I think he knows he will be number 2 in 2028's election.

DeSantis will likely replace Rubio as SoS when he becomes VP.

I highly doubt Vance would accept the #2 slot yet another time.
They're best friends but it will get very uncomfortable in the months ahead unless they've got some kind of deal already worked out.
And Trump is the wild card: if he annoints one of them as his successor, it's game over.
I prefer Vance but only by the tiniest of margins. I'd be glad to call either of them Mr. President.

Both Rubio and Vance are far better than anyone the Democrats can put up at this point. I lean Rubio right now as I think he's crushing it as SoS.
