Sometimes these odd year elections require people to pay attention, and that doesn't happen until late, but may be happening now in VA.
The only time I ever voted for a Dem was in 1989 in the VA Gov race. The GOP candidate, Marshall Coleman, was 100% about banning abortion and "cracking down on marijuana." The Dems ran a moderate "nobody" named L Douglas Wilder. Coleman was way ahead, but as he campaigned, it became perfectly clear he was much more of a "W Republican" than a "Gingrich Republican," and that his goal had nothing to do with the cause of conservatism. Expand government, increase spending, and go after anyone not thumping a Bible. Wilder came across as a moderate. When he spoke, he came across as intelligent, sincere, and NOT EAGER to massively increase spending/size and scope of government, no gun grabbing BS etc.
Wilder against all odds won, and was a fantastic governor for Virginia. He was a real moderate. And THAT is why he went no further with the Dems, because THEY HATED HIM FOR BEING A MODERATE...

Indeed, this is almost an identical race to 1989, except the parties are reversed. The one sucking up to the Bible crowd is Zionist Fascist Spanberger. The sensible calm rational conservative/moderate is Winsome.
And the race is much closer than the media wants to admit...

Hopefully Old Dominion will stop "Brennan in a Dress" here... before it becomes the Dem Prez nominee in 2028...
