I don’t have a link other than my testimony of who has come to my front door and what I got in the mail
Washington Gas is demanding what they call mandatory compliance with allowing a sub contractor of Washington Gas access to my home for a look around. They refuse to specify what they are looking for other than ā€œthat all is OKā€. I have years of storage around the interior workings which must be removed. These preemptive inspections for our own good is not an an American way. , Being safe is my decision. If I dont smell gas Then you don’t get a look see from a subtracting inspection company who naturally will want work and find something in an inspection. Who fixes it, how and who pays for it ā€œcan only be discussed after the inspectionā€ which is reeling me in for the catch. My insurance agent says their master hazard insurance company imposed that on the Gas company and they in turn to me. I believe that is probable but it’s not up to me to adhere to those dictates.
Dont know if other Washington gas customers are in here but all Americans need to be aware of the overreach that Covid compliances created has emboldened other agencies

Washington Gas. Is that Washington State, Washington DC, Washington, Pa?
Also, if it were me, I would allow them access with a gas sniffer but not move a thing, ask them if they suspect a leak or anything, then tell them to sniff for a gas leak, but if they want stuff moved, they will have to move it themselves, then move it all back to your satisfaction.

Gas is heavy, so in an undisturbed, sealed area, a gas leak will travel along the floor pretty far.

Last I checked, the gas company's rights ended where the gas line connects to the gas meter. From there on in, everything else is your property and they have no right to see or inspect it or anything without your request or concerns.
