A few years back I found a great deal (half the asking price at the time) on this AR9 pistol plus bought two ETS mags for it. Unfortunately right afterwards life reared it's ugly head and I put it away. Just the other day I pulled it out, lubed it and was going to hit the range yesterday but we had high winds/dust storm. That put the brakes on that plan.......
Tomorrow supposedly chilly with rain with Sunday looking promising.
The UT9 (Turkish owned, made here in the USA) is a semi auto 9mm that comes with two 33 round mags and takes Glock mags. All the reviews pretty much say the oem mags suck but the ETS (Glock) mags work flawlessly.
It is a direct blow back, closed bolt with a 6" threaded barrel and a monster compensator that supposedly makes it a soft shooter. It's 4.6 pounds empty with a comfortable poly pistol grip and roughly 15" overall length. It's about i 1/8" wide and 7 3/7" tall without a mag. Mine came with a rear attachment that takes mil-spec buffer tubes, no buffer or spring needed. It will also take a folding stock. I have mine set up to take a single point sling though I might put a folding stock on it though I am considering a Strike FSA Single Folder Stock for it.

I don't like that hand stop set up at all.....Move it forward the put ladder rail covers over the slots.

Ideally it should be on the same plane as the grip area behind it.

Like on my Israeli M43 "AK".

Then again, I hate any unused rail without covers. ;)

I'm also considering an angled foregrip for it. Probably a Magpul AFG M-Lok, has the hand stop built in.

What is that "plate" behind the bottom rail section?

Is it something that can be removed and a longer low-profile rail installed?

If the front rail is in M-lok holes it would be a simple matter to remove and install your AFG.

While I don't care for them myself, lots of people like/use them....I prefer a "clean" grip area aft of the hand stop.

Oh I could remove that plate....... If I don't want a barrel...........

I would prefer a vertical grip but that would make it a SBR. As it is now the mag well is my vertical grip. I just have to be careful not to hold down the bolt release (The Devo looking hat button located to port).
