I’m hearing more and more young men don’t want a wife and kid. I’d take a AI girlfriend. Lays in my bed waiting for me to get home. Or I wait for her to get back from walking my dog when I don’t feel like doing it. Dog doesn’t know she’s ai.

You get my point. This technology is coming. And you are a relic from the past. In the future work will look a lot different. Just like today you don’t see blacks picking cotton tomorrow no assembly line workers. Just engineers. No janitors. Very few casino workers will be needed. Or McDonald workers. Robots will do it all.

And in the beginning only rich people will be able to afford AI robots that are human like. But eventually we will all have them. There will be Cadillac AI and cheaper versions. The more expensive ones do a lot more.

And you don’t want one.

Everyone in the future will be entitled to a basic standard of living even if they don’t work. Those who want more will work and have more. It’ll still be a capitalist society. Companies still need CEOs, VPs, engineers, salesperson. But instead 20 people in the HR department they’ll have 2

Or, the American economy does not make young men and women want to get married and have kids.

People who want kids are having them. It’s not sad people who don’t are not having babies. Why’s it sad?

Remember just 40 years ago women were raised to try to find a guy to take care of them. How many young men in America can afford to take care of 3 other people? And women today are taking care of themselves so they don’t need a man like 40 years ago. In fact with affirmative action women are being recruited heavily

I’m curious…what happens when we get to the ability to have the internet beamed right into your head. Right now, you can learn just about anything you want through the internet, but what does society look like when you can just have information access just by thinking about it, when everyone knows everything they want to know, instantaneously?

And why would i want an AI? Or an android? I am retired and even when I was working I made my living with my hands. I built homes for people . I can drive by homes I built 30 years ago and say "I did that" I don't need to live in some electronic fantasy world.

My spare time is still used to make things. I have my wood shop and make a nice cash income making things for people.

I doubt they'll be smarter.

People won't know how to do anything for themselves which is already happening.

People used to be able to do simple repairs on their homes, cars etc.

Now most people can't even put a rubber washer in a faucet to stop it from leaking.

This should be great for blue collar workers. I need some drywall work and the guy I'm waiting on is waiting for a rainy day or for winter before he comes to do this little job. But it'll probably be $500. You would save that $500 and diy.
