US Vice President JD Vance said that the United States does not intend to recognize a Palestinian state, following recent declarations by France, Canada and the United Kingdom that they plan to recognize Palestinian statehood.

So I'm curious. How important is it to recognize a Palestinian state? Israel has a much better track record of human rights than the Muslim world does, and we don't hear about the oppression of women, homosexuals, and so forth in Israel that we do in the Islamic world. And, while some are pointing fingers at atrocities being committed against Palestinians, I tend to be in favor of whatever will improve human rights around the world in the long run.

And, in the long run, the Islamic world should evolve its standards of human rights to be on par with those of developed nations such as the United States and Israel.

Wow nice post...not only honest and accurate but I agree with it.

There has never been an actual state nor a country called "Palestine."

Go find me an example of Palestinian currency then get back to me.

How important is it to recognize a Palestinian state?
At best, it is a pointless appeasement of Islamic terrorists and belligerent governments serving an ideology, rather than their citizens. As well as an appeasement of the recognizer's own constituents.

At worst, it is the destruction of modern international law.

To do so would go against the Quran. So what should Israel do with them until they evolve?
They'll have to update their interpretation of the Koran to be compatible with contemporary values such as rights for women, then.

And when do you see that happening? If they haven't "updated" in 1,400 years, why would you think they have any intention of treating woman any better than dogs now?

Progress tends to correlate with socio-economic conditions.

They have taken over the best and turned it into the worst. Do a history lesson on Syria or Iran. They do not evolve, they devolve. Check out London for a case in point...
It's apparent that some Muslim-majority nations such as Turkey are more developed than others. So as socio-economic conditions improve, we should see progress.

Your insistence that their lack of progress is solely related to the Koran is rather odd. If we look at history, there are times when Islamic nations were more culturally advanced than Western nations.

And if we bring the Bible into it, there are plenty of examples of people who claim to be Christians adhering to third-world values, such as in the case of the FLDS church.

Sure thing, bro. You go tell the Muzzies to do just that.

They'll get right on it, I bet. :laughing0301:
See above. We have examples of people who claim to be followers of Christ in the US engaging in barbaric practices such as forced marriage and child marriage.

Conversely, there are times in history when the Islamic world was intellectually and culturally advanced compared to Western nations.

They've used hostages to get what they wanted in the past, so you're pretty damned close.
Jews Should Obey Cinema Moses's Commandment, "Out of My Cold Dead Hands"

Israel shouldn't negotiate about hostages; taking them gives a huge weapon to a tiny group. They should reacted by raiding wherever the hostages are, as they did at Entebbe, where Netanyahu's brother made the ultimate sacrifice for Western Civilization.

Besides, the hostages brought it on themselves by surrendering without a fight. Death Before Dishonor.
