What To Know

President Trump's tariffs—incorporating the 10-percent baseline, automotive duties and China's effective, 145-percent rate—will "weigh disproportionately on manufacturing activity," according to the report, US Tariff Hikes to Cause Global Industrial Recession.

"Industry will lose out disproportionately from the tariff hikes while services will be more insulated. But service sectors that support manufacturing and trade, like ocean freight and logistics, will also decline," the authors wrote. "And in the US especially, broader economic weakness caused by higher inflation and weaker consumer and business confidence will hit all sectors."

As well as having a "scarring impact on global industry," they said that manufacturing activity in the U.S. is expected to contract by 0.9 percent in 2025 and 1 percent in 2026, the largest forecast downgrade.

Amazingly, trump thinks he is smarter than all these economic authorities. I suppose when inflation spikes and shelves become empty, he may have some second thoughts. But that will be too late and the damage will be done. Countries like China, India, and Russia are already looking to replace the dollar as the accepted world currency. This will give them more reasons to speed their efforts.

Will trump still be blaming Biden next year when inflation spikes? Yes, he probably will. But Americans are not stupid. They know who is cratering the economy. It is the orange moron in the WH.

Saving Democracy = We're still cheating in elections
Due Process = Slow down deportations to a crawl till the next impeachment attempt
Tariffs = We can't have Trump sticking it to those who have been sticking it to us for decades

Trump, yet another Republican president destroying yet another Democratic president’s strong, growing economy with historic low unemployment.

Voting for a Republican for president is the definition of insanity.

We has the best post pandemic economy in the world under Biden. trump crumbled that up in less than 100 days. You people should have listened when he and the NAZI, musk said there will be pain. By Christmas, the economy will be on life support.
