WRAPUP 2-U.S. job growth cools, unemployment rate rises to 6.2 percent

* Unemployment rate rises to 6.2 percent from 6.1 percent

* Average hourly earnings up 1 cent, workweek steady

By Lucia Mutikani

WASHINGTON, Aug 1 (Reuters) - U.S. job growth slowed more than expected in July and an unexpected rise in the unemployment rate pointed to some slack in the labor market that could give the Federal Reserve room to keep interest rates low for a while.

Nonfarm payrolls increased 209,000 last month after surging by 298,000 in June, the Labor Department said on Friday.

Reuters said:
Nonfarm payrolls increased 209,000 last month after surging by 298,000 in June, the Labor Department said on Friday.

Data for May and June were revised to show a total of 15,000 more jobs created than previously reported, showing underlying momentum.

July marked the sixth straight month that employment has expanded by more than 200,000 jobs, a stretch last seen in 1997. The one tenth of a percentage point increase in the unemployment rate to 6.2 percent came as more people entered the labor market, a sign of confidence in the job market.

are you really trying to spin this as bad news?

That's all they can do while the niggrah's in office. Then, when the Hillebeast takes over, it'll be more of the same.

U.S. job growth slowed more than expected

-Geaux
so it slowed more than expected but still marked the sixth month of growth over 200k, something that hasn't been done since 1997.
so it's not quite as good as the news hoped for, but it's still good news
who do you think was "at the switch" and to "blame"

Anyone clearly understands the import of the A.D. 50, Council of Jerusalem. The Torah of Deuteronomy 23: 19-20, is not a path to the New Testament. Usury is shown in Matthew 25:14-30. With each successive application of usury, the low income talent-holder is successively worse off. In the last decade, in that GOP endorsed scenario, even the mortgages could not be paid, at the lower incomes. The message of the New Testament is that the demon of the Old Testament, allegedly a deity, does not exist. The demonic believers kill children even now. Their demonic counterparts abduct them from tunnels, or blow them up on the spot.

Obama-Biden would use Matthew 20: 1-16, as basis for the equal dollar, "Refundable Make-Work-Pay-Income-Tax-Credit," as part of the Stimulus bail-out required. Otherwise, like Reagan-Bush had taken what federal deficit there was, and sent it off to the already prosperous, Defense Contractors--Obama-Biden sent it off to the already prosperous state and local bureaucrats and teachers instead. Boehner-McConnell took the New Testament program away from America, and ran the Mormon for President instead. That is their view of it all, anyone has to note.

The Clintons had to bail-out from the Reagan-Bush atrocity, of the Non-Existent deity. Obama-Biden had to bailout from Bush-Cheney. And still it continues.

And the far left continues to prove that they are the true racists.

Then again the way unemployment is counted now was changed by the far left Congress in 1993 under Clinton.

As with the impeachment discussion you liberals are the only ones talking this way.

You say it and do it and then blame us.

Did Bush ever see six straight months of 200,000+ jobs?

Obama has added more jobs in the last six months than Bush did in eight years

I don't get it, what is the joke thing making you laugh so hard?

The job numbers are a solid (albeit unspectacular) bit of economic news.

.

Frustrating. There's been consistent job growth, but it's been consistently bland.

The foundation is there. Unfortunately, business is not going to take undue risks in a hostile government/corporate climate. This is gonna take some time still.
