Unemployment increased by 92,000 in February

The world is much safer. A lot of brown-skilled people have been saved. International terrorism is defanged. Oil returns to its low price in a few weeks after this necessary takedown is over. China is much weakened. Russia as well. Trump says we are at the threshold of an economic boom. He hasn't been wrong yet. Democrats have no answers. They lead us to massive recession rampant crime, and terrorist acts. They're incompetent.

Trump has scoured the deep state government, so that's a good thing. CA has hiked its minimum wage which has led to job losses. AI will require some adjustment and will lead to some job elimination, much as blacksmith and livery stable jobs 100 years ago.
This muthafucka is loopy!

What the phuck does that have to do w/the horrendous job he's doing on the national economy?
They can cherry pick data, scream TDS at the top of their lungs but they can’t refute that Trumps refocusing our economy is not meeting the economy that Biden left him with.

Recent international decisions made by Trump are making things worse

Apparently, he thinks he's been charged w/destroying the economy.

He's damn sure doing it.
Which proves he has no role in the economy. Ever have a company owner tell you Trump is in charge of his company?

Those companies are feeling the effects of Trumps tariffs, rising gas prices, immigration policies

This drastically impacted on the economy and Biden did it.

Biden's COVID-19 Response Eroded Civil Liberties

Mandates, school closures, and overreach defined an administration that doubled down on failed policies.

In the January 2025 issue of Reason, we're giving performance reviews of Joe Biden's presidency. Click here to read the other entries.

When Joe Biden was sworn in as president in January 2021, he had good reason to be optimistic about the trajectory of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being widely criticized for—and arguably losing his first reelection because of—the perceived insufficiencies of his coronavirus response, President Donald Trump had successfully overseen Operation Warp Speed. As a result of this public-private partnership, federal health officials were able to grant emergency authorization for COVID-19 vaccines by the end of 2020, a much faster than expected timetable. In the first few months of Biden's presidency, millions of Americans got vaccinated and COVID-19 cases dropped rapidly.

As bad as Democrats are responding to the moment now, Republicans are toast nationwide for the foreseeable future.

Thanks Trump!

Which companies are complaining? Gas prices are not set by Trump, and his immigration policies are what the law dictates.

Monthly job creation in the U.S. has shown significant volatility recently, with 130,000 jobs added in January 2026, surpassing expectations and marking the strongest gain since December 2024. However, February 2026 saw a sharp reversal, with the economy shedding 92,000 jobs, far below the expected 59,000 gain, according to the latest Labor Department report.

Revisions to prior months have also been substantial. January’s initial payroll gain was revised down from 130,000 to 126,000, and December 2025 was revised from a 48,000 increase to a 17,000 job loss. Over the past two years, cumulative job growth has been revised down by nearly one million due to benchmark adjustments.

Sectoral trends show health care and social assistance driving gains in January (adding 82,000 and 42,000 jobs, respectively), while February saw declines in health care (−28,000), construction (−11,000), and manufacturing (−12,000). Federal government employment has dropped by 11% since October 2024.

Not sure what's funny about job losses till your 24 yr old dope head moves back in and his room smells up the 2nd floor.

Maybe for you on welfare a job loss is a win?

Thanks Trump!
The losses the democrats have suffered really will keep them out of most congress jobs as well as doomed them from getting a president who is a democrat.

What is harming Democrats so much is their own representatives and senators in congress.

Unemployment increased by 92,000 in February in contrast to expectation so job growth. The recession has started.

The U.S. economy lost jobs in February, a month marred by severe winter weather and a strike at a major health care provider, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday.

Nonfarm payrolls fell by 92,000 for the month, compared to the estimate for 50,000 and below the downwardly revised January total of 126,000. February marked the third time in the past five months that payrolls declined, following a sharp revision showing a drop of 17,000 in December.

At the same time, the unemployment rate edged higher to 4.4% as jobs declined across key areas. A broader measure of unemployment that includes discouraged workers and those holding part-time positions for economic reasons moved lower, at 7.9% or 0.2 percentage point below the January level.

Health care, the primary growth driver in payrolls, saw a loss of 28,000 due largely to a strike at Kaiser Permanente that sidelined more than 30,000 workers in Hawaii and California. Though the strike has since been resolved, it occurred during the BLS survey week so it subtracted from the jobs total.

Information services, a sector hit by artificial intelligence-related cuts, also lost jobs, down 11,000 as part of a 12-month trend in which the sector has lost an average of 5,000 per month. Manufacturing saw a loss of 12,000, despite tariffs aimed at reshoring jobs from overseas.

Federal government employment also fell, off 10,000 for the month. President Donald Trump’s efforts to pare federal payrolls has seen a slide of 330,000 jobs, or 11% of the total workforce, since October 2024, a few months before Trump took office, according to the BLS.

Transportation and warehousing also saw a reduction of 11,000. Social assistance was one of the few sectors posting a gain, up 9,000.

According to Trump "we have the hottest economy on earth," and it's only gonna get better. Boy, somebody is going to get fired for publishing numbers that's make Trump look so very bad. He is a joke, in the middle of a war he started and cannot win that is costing taxpayers around $900,000,000 per day. The midterms are acoming!!!

Bought gas lately?

Bigly!!!

Have no fear your taxes will pay this. Most daily posters here live on social security. Also the rich pay at least 90 percent of income taxes.

We on the left are working on getting rid of our horrible people, meanwhile you on the right are uplifting yours.

Don't stop digging, I love it!

We are doing much better than Democrats who poll only 19 percent as favorable.

WASHINGTON (AP) — American employers unexpectedly cut 92,000 jobs last month, a sign that the labor market remains under strain. The unemployment rate blipped up to 4.4%.

Hiring deteriorated from January, when companies, nonprofits and government agencies added a healthy 126,000 jobs, the Labor Department reported Friday. Economists had expected 60,000 new jobs in February.

Revisions also cut 69,000 jobs from December and January payrolls.

The surprisingly weak employment picture in February adds to the economic uncertainty over the war with Iran, which has caused oil prices to surge and saddle business and consumers with unforeseen costs.

This is the Trump Economy in action. His tariff's are tax on the American Thanks to his illegal war with Iran, gas prices are going up as well as prices groceries at the check stand. He doing to the economy exactly did the last time, cratering it..

The foundation is laid. The framing is going up. Give it time.
