I never liked facebook but some old Army buddies started a site there to try and connect with long lost friends.

Anyhow got pissed off with facebook and decided to delete my account....bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaa easier said than done. Followed all the directions....they will not let me delete my account.

The best I could do was to temporarily de-activate.

They must have dedicated a lot of time to figure out how to make it so difficult or impossible to delete a facebook account.

Hmm, I don't know if Announcements and Feedback is the right medium for this request. Let me move this down to an appropriate forum...

Took awhile to find it but it does give 2 options....

  2. Select Settings & privacy, then click Settings.
  3. Click Accounts Center at the top left of your screen.
  4. Click Personal details, under Account Settings.
  5. Click Account ownership and control.
  6. Click Deactivation or deletion.
  7. Choose the account or profile you want to delete.
  8. Select Delete account.
  9. Click Continue then follow the instructions to confirm.

Delete your Facebook account through your Facebook Settings

If you can't delete your account through Accounts Center, you can delete your account through your Facebook settings.

  2. Select Settings & privacy, then click Settings.

  6. Click Delete account, enter your password and then click Continue.

Just so you know, once it's deleted you can't get it back.........but you can start another account

Facebook could fully fund government gun confiscation and write the rule book on seizing your property and assets.......
and 99.9999% of people would go right on using it daily because of "convenience".
When you see freedom disappearing along with Constitutional rights, it starts with this exact type of complacency.

At this point I don't think the average human being living free cares one bit about freedom. It's taken for granted. And therefore it will absolutely be taken away. (IS BEING taken away)

Good for YOU getting off there. Your family, friends and neighbors all surrendered long ago and will stay.

FB has zero customer support, the only reason I keep mine is staying in contact with friends and family across the country.

I have read about this phenomenon, they may have even have been the subject of a lawsuit in the past if I remember accurately. They are going to welcome government regulations if they continue to engage in this.
