A months long investigation into why neither the EU nor Ukraine were able to significantly raise the ammunition supply for the UAF resulted in this long article and the key reasons are:
- Pre-war corruption in Ukraine that prevented production and even purchase of ammunition
- European arms manufacturers demand long-term contracts that the governments refuse to offer
- European ammunition and weapons are not compatible to each other
- Western arms are being delivered without modern targeting systems
- European governments handle the war like an everyday affair
- Ukrainian government has no money
