Ukraine launches long range missles into russia

KYIV — Ukraine fired at least six U.S.-made ATACMS missiles at a weapons depot in the Bryansk region on Tuesday, the first use of the weapons against a target inside Russia, according to Russian and Ukrainian officials.

The Russian Defense Ministry played down the effectiveness of the attack, however. “Ukraine’s armed forces last night struck a facility in the Bryansk region with six U.S.-made ATACMS missiles, with five missiles shot down and one damaged,” the ministry said in a statement.

A Ukrainian official, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject, confirmed the use of the weapon systems overnight and officials in the Defense Ministry said the target was in Bryansk.

On Sunday, it was reported that Washington was reversing a long-standing policy of forbidding Ukrainian forces from using the Army Tactical Missile System, or ATACMS inside Russia. The move came after about 10,000 elite North Korean troops were sent to Russia’s Kursk region, where Ukrainian troops have taken territory.

In the wake of the lifting of restrictions, Russian officials warned that the United States was provoking open war with Russia and on Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the country’s new nuclear policy. First announced in September, it declares that a conventional attack by a country with the support of a nuclear power would be seen as a joint attack.

“The Russian Federation reserves the right to use nuclear weapons in the event of conventional aggression against it,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Speaking in Rio de Janeiro, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said “the fact that ATACMS were repeatedly used against the Bryansk region last night is a clear signal that they want an escalation.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Ukraine’s military general staff said in a post on Facebook that its forces had “caused fire damage” to “warehouses with ammunition for the army of the Russian occupiers,” in the city of Karachev in Russia’s Bryansk region, just over 70 miles from the Ukraine border.

6 misses launched. After putins warnings, where does this lead?

Why is biden escalating this close to a new administration?
We are in a very dangerous time. Putin may be crazy enough to retaliate with tactical nukes dropped on Ukraine. Or. at the very least, to step up Russia's missile strikes across that country.

Biden is escalating now because he has been humiliated by his own party and has had to endure pretending to be gracious to "Hitler" who will take his job. The damage he causes will be left for someone else to deal with. Biden is a bitter, angry old man.

He knows he can get away with doing this in another 2 months, this election went just the way he wanted.

The Russians are on record as stating that if ATACMS are used against it on Russian soil, then it will be regarded as a declaration of war. The Russians regard attacks on it's territory with ATACMS as an attack by the United States and now it seems Britain too, the ever deferential sidekick to the US is also sending advanced long range missiles to Ukraine now.

The United States is provoking war, potentially involving nuclear weapons and that is the height of irresponsibility. Even though the US can strike back that does not justify the loss of civilian lives that might arise from a nuclear attack by Russia, it is folly, absolutely staggering idiocy.

The numbskulls in Europe, pandering to US insanity are beyond belief, they are routinely describing Russia as a "threat to Europe" yet it is those same nations that are eagerly arming and encouraging increasingly hostile attacks on Russia - to accuse a country that has never attacked an EU state as a threat when in fact it is the EU and US that are the true threat, would ordinarily be clear to everybody, but in a world that increasingly disregards facts and truth it barely raises an eyebrow.

Where will it lead? Nowhere. Putin will give some lengthy press conference huffing and puffing about, "escalation" but not actually do anything, and Ukraine will probably continue its withdrawal westwards.
So you think the law that put in signed and the warnings he gave are just smoke?

I doubt it. Putting didn't make any moves while trump was in office. Putin probably sees his war coming to an end soon.

Biden over here pushing his buttons.

Remember, putin is putting Ukraine and the US in the same basket, since we provided the missles, gave the green light on their use and are probably providing support for their use.

Technically Moscow now has every right to to do anything it chooses on your American main land .
Literally give you a Nuclear breakfast .
But they will not .

Because dear Uncle P and his closest colleagues have been so much smarter than NATO throughout, I shall watch their next moves with keen anticipation .

I would , for example , consider obliterating Independence Square in Kyiv which would be like putting a bullet into the heart of every Ukrainian person .It would even sadden me --- lovely spot .
But it would warn the Mad Midget that everything following would be " on his head" if he ever fired one more missile onto Federation territory .

The Biden administration sees that Trump is coming and will probably end the war, since Ukraine has no hope in winning it.

So, the next best thing is to spice up the war so that it will be harder to stop.

As Scott Ritter says in that interview, these developments are of such magnitude and given Trump's clearly promised opposition (diametrically opposed) to financing Ukraine and supporting NATO, it is incumbent on Trump to make a public statement, stressing to the world that his administration will be reversing such decisions and reducing the threat's on Russia, that Trump has no intention of allowing the US get dragged into a - potentially - nuclear war.

I must admit that I'm puzzled by Trump's silence so far, if he disagrees and disapproves of this ATACMS decision then publicly say that and say you'll reverse the decision and cease support for Ukraine and he should also call the Kremlin too.

Well Trump could openly state that they will reverse these decisions and cease all support for Ukraine that could, might, stave off a harsh reaction from Russia, if Trump remains silent on this then Russia will naturally have no reason to trust Trump.

Trump's talked the talk for years about this and NATO, well nothing stops him from holding a press conference today and making his position crystal clear and saying "**** you" to Biden, if Trump actually does this, the right thing, I'll go so far as to say I have some respect for him and that is not something I say lightly.

So to all the MAGATS here, why has Trump not held a press conference? not stated his disapproval of the ATACMS decisions and not made it clear to the world that his administration will be reversing the US position starting Jan 20 ? why...why...the silence from Trump...why is he pissing around with silliness like Gaetz and RFK?

Instead we get more reports of more appointments like today's mention of Howard Lutnick, and an impending visit to SpaceX to watch a ******* rocket launch, I mean is Trump so stupid he can't see how important it is to take a public and stern stance on this immediately?

Is it possible that Trump will end ALL U.S. military and financial assistance to Ukraine?
He said he would yet now, as the clock approaches midnight he's gone silent, could this be another abdication of responsibility like we saw on Jan 6th...

If Trump really is opposed to war then he'll make a statement about this, but was it all hot air as we've seen in the past...
