A country of 40 million, is totally incapable of winning a war of attrition against a country of 143 million. Eventually, Ukraine will be forced to sue for peace and the chances are good that when all is said and done, the prewar agreement of having part of the east of Ukraine under self-determination and the rest of the country neutral (non-NATO) is exactly how it will end. If that happens, all those who cheered this slaughter on for all these months should forever be ashamed of themselves. They'll share in the guilt for all that unnecessary bloodshed.

Russia no doubt committed atrocities in this war but the war itself could have been avoided had NATO made it clear Ukraine was not going to become a member.
