aug 22 2024 A so-called "keyboard warrior" in the United Kingdom has been slapped with a punishment of three years behind bars for posts he made on the X platform.

Wayne O'Rourke, 35, was sentenced to a three-year jail term for allegedly "stirring up racial hatred" during the recent anti-migration protests and riots. According to the local paper Lincolnshire Free Press, he had shared "misinformation" about Axel Rudakubana, the perpetrator of the mass stabbing attack in the English town of Southport. Rudakubana, who was born in the U.K. to Rwandan parents, killed three young girls during the July 29 attack.

Several of his posts urged residents of Southport and the city of Sunderland to take to the streets and protest. A separate post by O'Rourke urged rioters to "hold the line," citing the "us against them" remark allegedly said by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
