My Spidey Senses always always tingle when I hear the words "major incident". Is that how we are devaluing attempted murder and/or murder/terrorism?

If someones child is killed in one of these rampages and someone asks the parents how they child died would they say "they died in a major incident"? No, they will say they were murdered by a sick puppy or a victim of a terror attack etc.

Can government and their media friends stop using sanitized language to explain events?

Eight people have been stabbed and taken to hospital following a "major incident".

Merseyside Police said it had received "reports of a stabbing" and were called to a property on Hart Street in Southport at about 11:50 BST.

Armed police "detained a male and seized a knife" and the force said there was "no wider threat to the public".

North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said they had treated eight patients with stab injuries and some had been taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

My wifes hospitall used to run major incident exercises every year . A bomb going off in the dhopping centre and so on.

Local police have ruled of terrorism, which means that the suspect is neither Muslim nor Asian. The 17-year-old male attacker was arrested on suspicion of murder. The suspect was originally from Cardiff and he was living in Banks, near Southport. His full name will not be revealed by the media due to his young age but he is presumably a white male.

The suspect is in custody and "enquiries are ongoing to establish the motive for this tragic incident", police said.

"We can also confirm that the incident is not currently being treated as terror-related and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident."
