FBI Director Kash Patel and Royal Canadian Mounted Police Commissioner Michael Duheme are expected to make an announcement Friday about Ryan Wedding, a Canadian ex-Olympian accused by U.S. law enforcement of playing a key role in a transnational drug trafficking operation.

  • Born in Thunder Bay, Ont., Wedding later moved to Coquitlam, B.C., and competed for Canada in snowboarding in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
  • He's been listed as one of the FBI's 10 most-wanted fugitives since March 2025, with the U.S. State Department offering a $15-million US reward for information leading to his arrest.
  • During a November news conference, U.S. officials said Wedding is responsible for importing 60 metric tonnes of cocaine a year into Los Angeles via semi-trailer trucks from Mexico.
