I went by the shop this morning and snagged a couple of old "war horses" for a decent price.

A 1943ish S&W Victory Model in .38 special. Sort of "tired" lookin' but perfectly sound....Pretty slick action for a Victory in fact.....$200.00.

A 1964 Chi-Com SKS purported to be a "Vietnam bring back" but no papers. No import markings and the patina is right but as always....."Buy the weapon, not the story". ;) $300.00

I carried one of those S&W 38 Specials when I was working in a liquor store in the 80s.

And when the wood stock is that kind of shape it's a good deal. The parts can be replaced.

If you mean the SKS stock, it's solid, no issues at all....That and you don't go replacing matching parts unless you have to as it hurts the value.

As far as the revolver grips go they are horn and also fine.

I have another set of Victory model walnut stocks (grips) but they are too nice to put on this example.

Well I have a Yugo M48 that I had to replace some parts on because the parts on it when I got it from Classic Firearms broke.
I haven't even fired it, nor do I intend to.

Classic should have made it right.

LOL.....Aim Surplus (back in the day) had a 5-Fer deal on Ishapore 7.62 NATO Enfield Rifles, sold as is. $120.00 for five plus shipping.

You could usually cobble together three, maybe four, complete rifles of the five. I bought three lots of them. I cobbled them together up at my dad's place, I had Enfields everywhere!
