This is a review of the new Smith and Wesson .380 pistol.....not by professional police, not by Navy SEALS, or Delta Operators...but by normal, every day Americans who show great skill in their use of this pistol....

Messed with a .380 Walther the other day - didn't want to go into battery.
Pulled the slide, oiled it up good, pulled the spring, cleaned and oiled it, slingshot it 5-6 times to get everything wet and back into place, and it still failed to fire once per mag.
Maybe it needs a new spring. Gun looked new, not many rounds through it.

If it's a S&W made example trade it off....They had a lot of quality issues.

I doubt if it's a thing for you but they don't tolerate limp-wristing very well....In .380 in particular.

I own .380 Walthers (Interarms PPK/s) but they are best in .32 acp for which they were originally designed.

380 is a girl gun. Its good if youre being attacked by a squirrel.

Great if a dwarf attacks you

Yawn.

The old tried and true Win. Silver Tips are no joke.

I killed a deer with a .380 PPK/s once.

I was coming down out of my stand one morning and two bucks broke out of this thicket and one (a basket 8-point) stopped on the other side of the ladder I was coming down.

My rifle was slung across my back so I held on with one hand and unholstered the PPK/s and put one in his neck at about three yards. He piled-up on the spot.

During the half-assed autopsy when I was skinning it out at hunt camp I was amazed at the damage that silver-tip had done.

No caliber has a higher body count than .22LR and a lot of calibers (vast majority) are superior to the .22 in performance. including .380

I'm after something with a little more "stopping power"
