Two Americans charged with quarantine violation in Ontario, face $1K fine

Imagine if their "stop" was to use the washroom? Also, who was following them? Or was this another stand up Canadian who ratted them out after seeing their license plates?

Two Americans charged with quarantine violation in Ontario, face $1K fine

RAINY RIVER, ONT.—Two Americans have been charged with violating the Federal Quarantine Act.

On June 24, a 66-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman from Minnesota entered Canada at the border connecting International Falls, Minn., and Fort Frances, Ont.

Canada Border Services Agency told the man and woman to drive directly to their destination and quarantine for 14 days, but Ontario Provincial Police say they were observed making stops in Fort Frances.


Police say they are charged with failure to comply with an order prohibiting the entry into Canada and face a fine of $1,000.

I didn't realize how closely the authorities keep an eye on you in the Dominions of Canada. Thanks for the update. My dad spent part of WWII shoveling shit in Canada while serving in the US Army. He did give me some Canadian money he brough back if I ever went there, so it isn't beyond the realm of possibility that I will go there some day.

As I said, our system is based on the British, we are East Germany to your West Germany.

Too many here will not understand as you view our policing the same as yours. Our Charter of Rights is spit on by these agencies, it's one reason our citizens overseas are always at risk.
