The legendary Middle East historian Bernard Lewis has an interesting footnote in his book on antisemitism: The Prime Minister of Syria at the time of the 1948 War, Khalid al-Azm, admits in his memoir (Lewis was fluent in Arabic) that Arabs themselves have been responsible for uprooting Arabs or “Palestinians”—1 million refugees created by Arabs! A much-needed correction to the anti-Israel propaganda alleging Jews were responsible. Or, was the Syrian PM a Zionist propagandist?
