This term, assault weapons ban, is a layman's term created in the public and media....

The actual bill was some fancy dancy name that had "PROTECTION" in it, if memory serves....other so called protections were in the legislation as well....but for the life of me, I can not remember how specific they were in describing the weapons that were banned from further sales....
