‘That looks very safe’, says no one, ever. ‘This guy must have a death wish’, is usually what most think instead when they see photos of a man dangling from the top of sky-high towers.

But Abudi Alsagoff insists he doesn’t. The 24-year-old has trained for more than nine years to become a professional parkour athlete and free runner, and has recently moved to the UAE to spread awareness of the gravity-defying fitness fad.

The daredevil from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – who now teaches parkour at the Gravity Calisthenics Gym in Al Quoz – told 7DAYS: “People always think it’s like you went into an elevator and pressed the button to go to the 100th floor, and then took a photo.
