"Trump moved to cut funding for ICE body cameras, pared back oversight"

"WASHINGTON, Jan 25 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump’s administration opposed efforts to expand the use of body cameras by immigration officers and sharply cut oversight staffing as it surged officers into Minneapolis and other cities, leading to a series of violent clashes."

"Cameras worn by ‌officers long have been central to police reform efforts for this reason. The Trump administration, however, moved last year to slow-walk a pilot program to give ICE officers body cameras, urging Congress in June to cut the funding by 75% and bucking a nationwide trend ‌of cameras for law enforcement."

Yep, reduce the number of oversight staff, don't have more body cameras, or even have less of them.

Why? Because if people can't PROVE THINGS, they can't get angry.

Basically what places like China do. Something happens, they remove all the evidence from the internet.

When your president is learning from China and Russia, you know you have problems.

Don't need them in about 48 states.

What is Minnesota's problem ?

What is Minnesota's problem ?
I found this as good an explanation as any. They just need a cause, it doesn't really matter if it is right or wrong.

Most folks have suspicions that the colossal fraud uncovered there might have some connection to this. . .

And you don't think Trump might be trying to stir up trouble?

I mean, his rhetoric gets more interesting when he can point to things and say "hey, this is why we need a dictator, things are getting out of hand"

We have the guy who got killed. An ICE agent was going around shoving people. Then they found a gun at is back, while pinned to the floor by 7 ICE agents, and they had to shoot him.

Do you think that was planned by the left?

And then Good was killed, an ICE agent standing where he shouldn't have been, and shot a car that was moving away.... that's not how police are supposed to function.

Do you think that was planned by the left?

Can you provide documentation of exactly how and what the Trump administration was "urging"? I'd like to see the bill you are referring to and what exactly the administration said about it. Are you able to provide that so we can have an objective look? Or are you just regurgitating what your masters tell you?

Amazing how it's always the kooks and weirdos out causing trouble that end pushing up daisies. The normal among us who are minding our own P's and Q's never have issues like this with LE officers. Why is that?

Only if you listen to him.

When he tries to be a dictator, let me know.

You bet we're gonna rely on your story.

Did he impede?

mmmm, I have no idea.

I'm inclined to think so. He is at DAVOS right now, conspiring with the fake left on how they are going to foment more division so Americans are distracted from things that really matter.

Do you think that was planned by the left?
I have no doubt at this point that there is a highly coordinated and funded operation by radicals, leftests, the establishment & the DNC big wigs in that state to stymie the administration from simply enforcing the law, and doing the will of the voters.

Well....

"The Trump administration scrapped the agency’s body cam program soon after the president took office this year, according to a former ICE chief of staff in the Biden administration. The Chicago Police Department uses the devices."

"In late 2021, ICE launched a $25 million body camera pilot program that was discontinued soon after President Donald Trump took office, Jason Houser, chief of staff for ICE from 2021 to 2023, said in an interview Tuesday."

So, Trump's own staff said that Trump discontinued the program.

The issue here is that Trump did so many things, that a lot of them were not mentioned at the time. There's information that points to this, but not directly.

"On January 27 the Office of Management and Budget gave direction to Executive branch departments and agencies to temporarily halt the disbursement of grants and loans by federal agencies."

Also

"Trump also issued executive orders to revoke police reform executive orders issued by President Biden. "

So, Trump went and just got rid of Biden's police reforms, just for the sake of doing it because Biden did it.

So this would have happened to the body cameras.

The kooks and weirdos being hired by ICE, you mean?

I didn't ask you for Biden administration kooks yapping on TV. I asked you for the bill/executive order........or anything else that explicitly states something about body cams. A Biden administration weirdo who hasn't been in office for years is not a reliable source to take as "he said so".

Weirdo, that article doesn't make a single reference to body cams. If you can't provide me the details of the exact executive order or bill and what it explicitly said it's time for you to tap out.

Yet, the normal among us never have problems with them or other LE. It's almost as if we know that accelerating a vehicle while knowing we are going to likely hit an officer.........or fighting/impeding with officers while being armed with a loaded gun......aren't good ideas. Amazing!

Like I said, this is a low IQ/severe mental illness issue.

"On May 25, 2022, President Biden signed Executive Order 14074, Advancing Effective, Accountable Policing and Criminal Justice Practices to Enhance Public Trust and Public Safety. Section 13 of the Executive Order requires the heads of federal law enforcement agencies to issue policies with requirements that are equivalent to, or exceed, the requirements of the body-worn camera policy issued by the Department of Justice on June 7, 2021."

"EO 14148:

Initial Rescissions of Harmful Executive Orders and Actions

Signed:January 20, 2025Published:January 28, 2025FR Citation:90 FR 8237FR Doc. Number:2025-01901"

"Revokes: " "EO 14074, May 25, 2022"

Biden's executive order requires the wearing of body cameras. Trump revoked this executive order.
