“The Congressional Budget Office estimated that ending the cost-sharing payments would increase the U.S. fiscal shortfall by $194 billion over the next decade as subsidy outlays jump.”
Trump's Obamacare move could cost US nearly $200 billion
So much for the GOP being the party of ‘fiscal responsibility.’
Nothing is going to happen with it anyway. The mandates are still there, meaning that no one is going to be able to purchase "credibile insurance" from an out of state provider that meets those mandates without paying a much higher premium. It costs providers millions of dollars to move into states, and they normally select the healtiest states to move into. For example: Colorado is considered the healthiest state so they have several providers, whereas in unhealthy states there are fewer providers and lack the competition.
It does open the door wide open to a lot of FRAUD. They're going to be springing up all over the internet advertising medical insurance, not offering catastrophic insurance (hospital coverage,) at a very low cost that Americans will get suckered into.
