Trump will reportedly link pain reliever Tylenol to autism at WH presser

The question is it heightened diagnosis or an actual increase, or maybe a bit of both?
I have no idea. I do know of one young family in California with two children and both are autistic. Both are non verbal and one is a dwarf.

You are also one of the people that believe progressive studies as soon as they are posted.
If they are credible and they f courseist are. The studies done by right wingers are usually biased. They want to prove their point and that affects honest results. Those on the left generally do not allow personal goals and ambitions to interfere with their studies , they just want the truth. For example , global warming, no one wants dire results but that's what the progressives found. Right wing groups came up with excuses to try to counter that. Misleading people to reach the wrong conclusion. Fortunately it is all self-evident now and the only question left is just how bad it's going to get.

Definitely a bad , isolated case. Let's hope that's not going to increase.

Bullshit. The AGW people create their own market for their own bullshit.

Same as those "studies" that lead to kid carvers going with the "do you want a dead son or a live daughter" trope.

The same "Truth" that women can have penises and men can get pregnant?

Nationally 1 out of every 31 children have autism. In California, it's one in twelve. This certainly has no historical reference.

Sounds like you have a lot of emotional problems. Best get some professional help.

Sounds like a dodge.

As expected.

But keep thinking ruining our economy and lowering our standard of living over AGW is a good idea.

No dodge , you're the one over-reacting in an emotional manner.

I looked it up the state of California instituted a more rigorous testing and screening system for autism. Most of these cases aren't discovered in other states. But more likely as the paper suggested it's not just that. It's multi-faceted and Tylenol is the least of the problem , if at all.

Enough of a problem to examine the issue further.

Passion in the face of idiotic tyranny is not a vice.
Wait a second are you talking about trump. ( Idiotic tyranny ) I agree with that , he is an idiot and he wants absolute control , in other words tyranny.

At an Oval Office event on Monday, the US president will reportedly advise pregnant women in the US to take Tylenol, known as paracetamol elsewhere, only to relieve high fevers.

On Sunday, Trump said he had an "amazing" announcement coming on autism, adding that it was "out of control", but they might now have a reason why.

Some studies have shown a link between pregnant women taking Tylenol and autism, but these findings are inconsistent and inconclusive. Tylenol maker Kenvue has defended the use of the drug in pregnant women.

Whoo! Get the popcorn ready for this one!

I take Tylenol and my wife thinks I'm retarded.

Science you know. ;)
Hmmmm.... Ever heard of Thalidimide?

It's not only about Tylenol and pregnant women should stop taking any pain relievers which contain acetaminophen as a main ingredient. There is a credible study that linked acetaminophen to autism and ADHD.

Our analysis demonstrated evidence consistent with an association between exposure to acetaminophen during pregnancy and offspring with NDDs, including ASD and ADHD, though observational limitations preclude definitive causation. This analysis, using the Navigation Guide methodology, synthesizes evidence from several population studies and supports an association between prenatal acetaminophen exposure and increased NDD incidence, including ADHD, ASD, and other NDDs. While population-level trends in NDD rates have risen, potentially due to several factors including improved diagnostics and external exposures, further research is needed to confirm these associations and determine causality and mechanisms.

A causal relationship is plausible because of the consistency of the results and appropriate control for bias in the large majority of the epidemiological studies, as well as acetaminophen’s biological effects on the developing fetus in experimental studies. Further, a potential causal relationship is consistent with temporal trends—as acetaminophen has become the recommended pain reliever for pregnant mothers, the rates of ADHD and ASD have increased > 20-fold over the past decades.

While this association warrants caution, untreated maternal fever and pain pose risks such as neural tube defects and preterm birth, necessitating a balanced approach. We recommend judicious acetaminophen use—lowest effective dose, shortest duration—under medical guidance, tailored to individual risk–benefit assessments, rather than a broad limitation.

Thanks for nothing. Read all that crap to reach " no casual association found _. You can link anything and everything to pregnancy problems. Some are appropriate , others are not. Tylenol has not been proven a factor. When and if it ever is proven to be , that is the time to issue warnings. Not just because you believe it might be a factor. That's not science and definitely not reasonable.

The only study that suggested a link was the Mt. Sinai Study and it said no causality could be found and that further study is needed. This isn't like cigarettes and cancer. There is no smoking gun pointing at Tylenol. And to be sure now that kooky kennedy ( and trump ) has made an issue of it there will be much further research done on it., which isn't bad unless it's over-done. Studies take time and money. We cannot afford to waste either on hundreds of repetitive studies on the same single issue. More isn't always better.
