All of you harping on the history of the area need to just forget that history as it is null and void.

History has been repeated again and again in the ME, time to make new history there and it looks like Trump is gonna make it.

BC, don't you say that in every thread? First you bring something up then you say you're not going to get into it!

Last time I "got into it" with you on another thread it was completely off topic and someone reported it and the whole entire conversation got deleted! So yeah, this too is not the thread for it.

The entire Middle East just dropped their hookah pipes in the sand a couple minutes ago. President Trump in a press conference mentioned the US becoming involved in the Gaza Strip, clearing rubble and explosives, and re-developing it.

Trump floats US taking over Gaza Strip

"President Trump on Tuesday floated the idea of the U.S. taking over the Gaza Strip, saying America should be responsible for clearing the territory of rubble and unexploded bombs and proposing an “economic development.”

Trump’s remarks are some of his most extreme rhetoric regarding the future of the territory where nearly 2 million Palestinians live and hope to be part of a future Palestinian state. Trump also suggested the U.S. would develop the land but gave no details on who would be allowed to live there.

“The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job — whether we’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site, and get rid of the destroyed buildings, level it out,” Trump said.

“Create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area, do a real job, do something different.”

Trump made the statements during his opening remarks at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House.

“I do see a long term ownership position,” Trump continued.

“This was not a decision made lightly. Everybody I’ve spoken to loves the idea of the United States owning that piece of land, developing and creating 1000s of jobs with something that will be magnificent in a really magnificent area that nobody would know, nobody can look because all they see is death and destruction and rubble and demolished buildings falling all over.”

Earlier, Trump suggested Palestinians in Gaza could be relocated and settled elsewhere, and that they should not want to return to Gaza.

Trump called for countries “of interest with humanitarian hearts” to build “various domains” that could “be occupied by the 1.8 million Palestinians living in Gaza.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Trump as a leader who thinks outside the box.

“You say things other refuse to say and after the jaws drop, people scratch their heads and they say, ‘you know, he’s right,’” Netanyahu said.

Asked if he supports Trump’s proposal, Netanyahu said “President Trump is taking it to a much higher level… He sees a different future for that piece of land.”

Arab nations have publicly rejected displacing Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

“Palestinians do not want to leave their land,” the foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and a senior Palestinian official wrote in a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio this week.

“We support their position unequivocally,” they wrote in the letter, which called for Palestinians to “live in their land and help rebuild it.”

Trump later in his remarks from the White House reiterated that the U.S. would rebuild the strip.

“As far as Gaza’s concerned, we will do what’s necessary… we’re going to take over that piece and we’re going to develop it. Create thousands and thousands of jobs and it’s going to be something that entire Middle East can be proud of,” Trump said.

“I think we’ll be a great keeper of something that is very, very strong,” he said, adding that jobs created in Gaza will be “for everybody.”

I appreciate the humor, but the geography does not support a marina like that. Look what happened to our floating dock. It went exactly as I predicted.

First, the Chinese have to be loving Trump. In the space of two weeks, he has offended Canada, Panama, Denmark, Mexico, Colombia and now the entire Arab world.

Second, Palestinians aren’t going anywhere. Will Americans troops be used to forcibly remove them? If Egypt and Jordan will not take them will Trump sanction them?

This proposal is typical Trump stupidity.

Well sure, you just don't let prime real estate stay in the hands of crazy people.....You move them along with what amounts to eminent domain.
Trump is basically saying; You two can't play nice so we are taking over the playground.
Now when there is a rocket attack from Hamas there will be a US carrier setting in the Med to bring the pain.
Like Stalingrad? Stupid battleplan.

This wasn’t on my bingo card. But President Trump is a genius and knows how to establish peace in the Middle East. It’s really going to be up to the Arabs there, if they are on board it can work.

The Palestinian Authority has been an abject failure and needs to be abolished. New management is needed.
The PA has nothing to do with Gaza.

There will never be peace in the ME.
Not under the current arrangement of the past 75 years.

What part of "not our problem" do you not understand?
The part where it is not our problem with threats on the POTUS's life, war with our ally, and constant funding to fight Iran and support Israel.
This is an opportunity for real peace. This is a great opportunity for the USA. If anyone can pull this off, it is Trump.
The least you can do is give it a chance. It is not a done deal yet, let's see who is willing to work with it.
Most of the region is tired of war.

Time for some of these countries to finally talk peace and end the hostilities or get the livin' crap further pounded out of them.
I think most countries will choose peace and prosperity over further death.

You keep saying that like it means something. Except the Chinese are just as stupefied as you Trump-haters are.

Trump is swarming your ass with so many things right now, that you can't keep up with them. :laughing0301:

Like Stalingrad? Stupid plan.
Stalingrad? Really?

History much?

You don't have a fuckin' clue.

NOT building a Utopia for the rich, that's not gonna work.

Yep. Building utopias for the rich just never works! :auiqs.jpg:

Jewish authority. The Israelis are going to love the idea of Gaza being rebuilt into a magnificent seaside community, free of "Palestinians."

And they will be right next door basking in peace and recipients of all that economic prosperity.

Yeah, like the Middle East will be safer with 2,000,000 stateless Palestinians roaming the area and destabilizing the countries Trump wants to exile them to.

You Trumpers really need to think of the repercussions of what you are cheering on.
