I understand debate about trans in sports and locker rooms etc. but why in the world would anybody end a crisis hotline that receives over 2000 calls a day? These are youth who are suicidal and in crisis reaching out for help. And there’s no plan or effort to replace the assistance with anything.

Play your political games all you want but cutting off a lifeline to people in need of help is just cruel.

Does anybody want to try and justify this?

It should not be paid for with public money.
I don;t know anything about this hotline but how does it work? How much does it cost? If it saves lives, the costs may be worth it but I don't have these details.

Trump suggested a few months ago that his administration might push ads on TV to educate the youth to stay off of drugs. Why? It could save lives.

They cruelty is the point.

What is the slant with which the LGBT hotline answers these calls? If they are government funded, they will be agenda driven. So what agenda and I asked to pay for this time?

Frankly, I'm very skeptical of claims that LGBT-Q++ youth are constantly on the verge of mass suicide, and that such deaths can only be averted by granting Democrats everything they want.

Slade3200, why would I need to justify NOT spending money on this? You justify the costs, and the loss of opportunities to spend that money elsewhere.

Hillary just calls the regular Suicide Hotline.

Mental health hotlines exist and are appropriate for these circumstances.

Can't they just call a regular crisis hotline?

Fruitcakes gonna fruitcake... even if it means killing themselves... for every hot-line life saved, I'll bet a hundred are lost...

The solution? Call a friggin' Emergency Room or your local psychiatrist. After all... its a Mental Health matter anyway...

Meanwhile... the Line is
not being shut down... its services will be available to everyone regardless of race, orientation, etc...

D.E.I. continues to D.I.E in the Federal workspace... as it should...

Well ending the Press 3 option on the hotline doesn't really end their access to a voice on the other end so I am not sure that this really means much.

Having a hotline for only one specific group is prejudicial. Our tax dollars should not support such blatant discrimination towards anyone outside of that fringe community.

Because Trump couldn't give a damn about other people.
